Hey folks
Here is the draft of the re-rates for this year.

A few comments
- Don't pay attention to if your player went up or down. That doesn't matter - rather - look at your player's rating relevant to the others in the same area. That's what is key - not how these ratings compare with a year ago
- Ratings were based on last 3 years with heavy weight to the most recent season
- UFA/RFA grids will need to be updated. That's the next step.
- These ratings are NOT final until we get GM input (see below)

Next step
- You all have the opportunity to identify members of your team that are badly miss-rated. Be honest. There is subjectivity here for sure, but we are looking for players who are simply not in the right group. If you think your guy should be one point higher - that's not what we are looking for.
- Look for guys that are both too high and too low
- If a player doesn't appear on this list it is because they didn't play in the NHL last season. They will be assigned a rating (likely below 60).
- Your deadline for submitting any input is Saturday 11:59 PM Calgary time. RFA re-signing will then follow once any final adjustments are made and grids released.

so from skimming through those, I'd say ratings are generally about 3-5 points lower than last year, correct?

Didn't really look at it that way but sounds about right.
BTW re-rate feedback should be sent to grant at blockbitter dot com.

It really isn't all that important and more a flaw in my logic but every year when I look at these rating I seem to obsess over it. Maybe understanding the process/reasoning will allow me to NOT focus on it as much as I have in the past

Did the baselines change again? If so, does this mean that the UFA/RFA grids will also change?

With this off-season stuff folks please read and follow the instructions. So in this case email as instructed don't PM. If people are pm'ing I don't have an easy way of keeping track of what I've looked at and reviewed and what I haven't.

This may seem trivial but we are dealing with a lot of off-season tasks and organization is important. So please take the time to read what we post and follow the guidelines we provide.

A point coming up often is solid rookies are a little low. Generally guys don't get really good ratings after 1 year but I do agree some are low so make sure to call guys like that out

Giordano 3 points less than McDonagh and Hedman? 1 point less than Girardi??

I dont own him, but as a general Flames fan I feel slighted!

P.S. - Re-rates look good, cant wait for the season!

Nothing really to complain about. A couple of oddities, like Giordano, but it's fairly decent.
