this isn't a gear grinder yet.... but will be soon
we have a lawn maintenance company come by a few times a year to spray for weeds (we can't buy the 'good stuff' anymore in kelowna), they also fertilize and air-rate the lawn in the spring.
after they fertilized in the spring i had to mow about every 4 days just to keep up with the lawn - it was nuts!!! we have the over-sized yard waste bin that is picked up every other week and it was completely full with just grass clippings most of the spring!
yesterday i mowed my lawn and thought, you know, it could probably do with a little fertilizer, just to green it up a bit - so i fertilized.
this morning i here 'slam' from outside (like when you close a car door). i go and take a look out the window to see a truck from this lawn maintenance company drive away. i then go look at the little sign in my lawn... which says they just fertilized.... crap
i'd love to not water, but with our temps in the high 30s right now it wouldn't be long before my entire yard would be dead
wgrmg is the 'soon to be' mowing of my lawn every few days

I typically record video of one song and a few pics per show because I typically go to shows where I have friends in other parts of the country who would go if they could. I shoot the video for them. I have had one of my videos make it to a band website as well. People get really bent out of shape over recording a video. It's one song not the entire show.

Buy the DVD. We don't need you holding your phone in front of our faces at a concert.

#1) No DVD to buy.
#2) I don't hold my phone in front of anyone's face at a show. I typically stand front row stage right with no one in front of me.
I'm starting to think you guys are mad at people with poor situational awareness and not me.

So if you are in the front row, wouldn't you be in front of everyone? He's not worried about the people in front of you who won't even know you have a camera. He's concerned about the people behind you that are having the view of the band blocked by your camera. If the guy in front of me holds up a camera to record the show, and it blocks my view of the show, I'd be annoyed. The guy in front can replay it often, but I can't even watch it and I'm at the live show.

Maybe I just know how to use my camera then. I typically don't hold my phone above my chest once I have the shot established. If that level is in anyone's face then me standing in front of them is more of the problem than me recording one song.

You might hold your camera low, but here's how the rest of the stadium is filming it:
This, I believe, is what others were saying when they didn't want cameras in front of their faces.
Here's what the Yeah Yeah Yeahs posted outside their show:
NSFW for a cuss word.

Yes, I hate those people too. I am NOT one of those people. I try not to interfere with anyone's concert experience.

Ants.
I was able to get them under control in my basement suite fairly easily last year.
Well they apparently spent the rest of last summer and all winter planning, because they came back with a multi-entrance multi-pronged attack. They've been in the bathroom, the kitchen, the entry-way. They've permanently invaded the dishwasher. They've been on our coffee table and counters. I forgot about my lunch remnants in my work bag the other day (so partly my fault) and was greeted by over a hundred of them milling about in there. It's getting ridiculous -- at least they're staying out of our bedroom at this point, but still. My wife and I are considering moving into my parent's place for the last couple months before our new townhome is ready just to get away from them.
And yes, I've tried everything. Raid, ant traps, duct taping off entrances, leaving other kinds of traps. They keep finding new ways in or have ways in we can't get to,

Have you tried one of the powder options?
http://www.homedepot.ca/product/ant-killer/909558
I used a similar product around a tree and along my fence in my yard and it worked great at killing and eliminating the ants that I had. Once the ants were gone I did not reapply and they have not returned.
If you know of some areas that are entrance ways for the ants put some of that stuff in there and it should help.

This.
I had a big infestation around a tree in my front yard. This powder knocked them all dead in about a week or so.
