If Bosh and Lebron both bolt Miami, would Riley pay Wade max or even $15M per? In open market, I think Wade would get no more than $10M per for 2 or 3 years. Wade must now be sweating, I thougth the fact that Wade opted out meant the big 3 had formulated an understanding on what to do, but they haven't.

Sorry I meant I think he would prefer for his kids to grow up in his Akron home rather than Miami/LA/NY etc.

Wade can probably get a good offer but I seriously doubt anyone will be going to crazy with a max deal. I think the absolute most anyone will offer is $15 million per. Wade is probably somewhat regretting opting out at this point, but we'll see how it all shakes down. Would have made $42 million the next two years before opting out.
Miami did just sign Josh McRoberts which is a....whatever move. Decent player but he doesn't help them beat any of the West's best.

And the Heat got Danny Granger. So basically they're the exact same team right now that they were at the end of the season.

I think most of you are underestimating the power of fame for people like James. Firstly, Gilbert absolutely tore him apart when he bolted. Deservedly so, as unprofessional as it was, but you think that he forgot about it? This is among the most arrogant athletes on the planet. While I think he may be open to it, I still maintain this guy is all about self image and being around a certain crowd, and I still think he'll end up on one of the NY area teams. Akron doesn't offer him the same opportunity to spend his loot - or further his faux businessman image.

Except he won big time in that "exchange " with Gilbert. If anyone will have a hard time backing down it would likely be Gilbert who looked like an ass through tout the whole thing.
Plus this isn't 1950 Lebron can be in NY in an hour in a private jet or LA in 3. He built a house with a 2,000 sq. ft. closet in Alron if he wants to spend his money or live the high life it is easy for him to do it anywhere.
Brooklyn can't give him max money and NY doesn't give him a chance to win. I think titles are more important than spending money. He will be a billionaire no matter where he goes.

The only teams realistically in play are Cleveland, Houston, the Clippers and the Heat. Lakers and Knicks possibly but the Knicks make more sense as there's no Kobe and LeBron loves the Garden. But as mentioned little else to build around unless Dolan or Buss want to eat the luxury tax big time. Houston and the Clippers are longer shots because the West is more difficult so staying in the East gives him the easiest path to the Finals.
Miami's moves so far are uninspiring, so it'd be relying on Bosh and Wade rebounding to 2011 levels or so. And I think for Bosh turning down the max deal is going to be difficult. So Cleveland appears at this point to be the logical destination if he leaves. Bigger question is what Big 3 is it: LeBron, Kyrie, and...Wiggins? Kevin Love? The latter to me would seal it and LeBron would have to go. So would Cleveland trade Wiggins for Love?

If I were Cleveland I would say take your pick of 2 (or all 3 if need be) of Thompson, Waiters or Bennett. Not sure that is enough and of course Minnesota would push for Wiggins.

Cleveland has now cleared the requisite cap space to offer LeBron a max deal. I cannot believe this might actually happen.

Can't believe the decision was already 4 years old and LBJ has been in the league for over a decade now.
I think if Wade and Bosh are willing to sacrifice, LBJ will stay. I would bet Wade and Bosh must take less than $30M combined for LBJ to stay. This way, the Big 3 will make around $50M combined leaving Reily with $18M for fill out the rest of the roster for a reasonably competitive team.

I wonder if Cleveland fans would accept him back.

It's like asking if Kate Upton's ex-boyfriend would accept Kate back.

Cleveland fans can at least say "We burned those jerseys because they were #23. Now we can buy #6 jerseys!"

Yeah actually works out good for Cleveland.
Lebron left, allowed them to add some young talent by sucking, and now comes back in the prime of his career.
Irving
Waiters
Lebron
Thompson
Varejao
That is a decent starting line up, with a bench that consists of two first overalls in Bennett, and Wiggins who are still developing.
Edit: Forgot Hawes was UFA and signed with Clippers

Yep they gave up so much on the trade to clear cap space for Lebron. They even gave away 1st and 2nd rounder in the future. I wonder what is going to happen if Lebron stays with the Heat or sign somewhere else instead of Cleveland... that city will explode I am not a fan of Lebron but I think if he goes back to Cleveland, i might go back to liking him again. It is going to be good for the city and the league to finally see Cleveland rise from their ashes. It will also a bonus since they have 3 Canadian players there (Thompson, Bennett and Wiggins).

Rumor of Melo waiting on Lebron and Bosh's decision before he signs. If Lebron stays in Miami and Bosh leaves for Houston, the Heat will have some money to sign Melo.
It makes sense because why else Melo hasn't signed with NY or LA by now.

something else haha

Sounds like Cleveland is making room for not only Lebron but Kevin Love as well. They would need to move Bennett and Wiggins in a potential deal to clear some more space but I would argue Irving, Lebron, Love would be an even better "big 3"
