literally every single other hockey discussion thread in this forum is Lebron-free, so it shouldn't be difficult to take your posting talents there instead. I'm more interested in reading what fans with the requisite knowledge think of the question presented by the OP.
Take your own advice and skip my posts in here then. I had no idea what the OP was talking about. Others obviously didn't either.

Should I be upset that I dont know anything about a basketball player? I am more than fine about my ignorance over anything football, handball, baseball, rugby or basketball related. Would you be upset because a Justin Bieber fan calls you ignorant for not knowing what Bieber's favorite food is?

You know it is ok for me not to like or remotely care about other sports other than hockey right?

No, he is far from being the "best LW in hockey"
and to compare him to Lebron James is laughable since Lebron is a generational talent. You'd be hard to find anyone who's not an Oiler fan who thinks Hall is a generational talent

wait... why did i even bother typing that out? Do you even know who Lebron James is?
Or you could actually read what I said. "By the time his contract is up" which means hall will be in his later 20s and by then their is a very good chance he's the best LW in hockey. There is no Lebron James of hockey, you can't affect a game like Lebron James does in the nhl unless you are hasek when he's on. So I'm going to compare it to a franchise player leaving.

No. LeBron is a doosh and anyone who would do what he did is a doosh.

Not for leaving his team, he had full rights to do so. For dragging them along and then hosting a 1 hour special for himself with his two butt-buddies, pyrotechnics, high fives and his whole "taking my talents to South Beach" thing. I don't think I've ever heard of anything so dooshy.

And I can't care less about Basketball as a whole.

Define "very good chance", what do you mean by that? 50/50? Less? He may be the best player on the team, and as such is Edmonton's "franchise player", but in the broader sense I don't see him as that guy. He's arguably in his prime now, and he's far from it now.

It's more like a Justin Bieber fan calling you ignorant because you claim to have never even heard of Justin Bieber before.

Which would be an amazing feat.

I'm still genuinely curious how you've managed to avoid any instance of his name coming up in any newspaper, radio station, television show, or all of the Internet. I hear about him without trying on the fan at least once a week, and I don't even think they ever cover basketball games.

Name some LWs ahead of hall right now. Benn, parise can't name many more.

Landeskog
Sharp (listed as LW on NHL.com)
JVR
Lucic
Skinner (maybe)

The LW seems to be a position of weakness in the NHL overall. As such, many players that are different positions get slotted in and are also better than Hall (ex: A guy like Carter is a C but plays on the wing quite often too). not to mention the RWers that play LW and vice versa.

I could put together a list of forwards or even wingers better than Hall, but that list is too long don't want to put in the effort.

Out of all those names none of them are on another level than hall, I'd argue some of those names don't belong there (skinner, lucic, jvr, marleau). And half of these guys will be retired/past prime by the time hall hits free agency.

And there will be new guys that are younger. We'll see, in the big scheme of things whatever Hall decides to do means little to me. Hall will no doubt be sought after if he goes to free agency, but it won't be anything we haven't already seen with UFAs, especially with centers.

I've heard the name before. No idea what he looks like, how old he is, where he plays or has played, and certainly don't know anything about his former or current contract situation.

I also don't know one Justin Bieber song. Things I just don't care to care about. No importance to me. Zero forks given. Does that also blow your mind?

I would definitely take Lucic on my team FAR before Hall. JVR is probably tied, but he's not a stinky Oiler, so he's got that going for him. And the only reason I wouldn't take Marleau is he's older. He's still a better player right now than Hall is. Which, given Hall's "pedigree" and age, is kind of embarrassing.

Who said another level? And who put restrictions on age? The original question was "Name some LWs ahead of hall" I did. But please, continue to move the goal posts.

IMO, you only need to know of the 1hr special to know that LeBron is a huge doosh, or has a doosh of an agent who should have been fired at the suggestion of it.

LeBron blocked off an hour of ESPN primetime to host a "special" where he announced his plans to leave the Cavaliers (after the draft, after the beginning of FA, without informing the Cavs first) to "take his talents to South Beach" and subsequently had Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh come out and dance with him to pyrotechnics, giving highfives, all dressed in Heat jerseys. That is the epitome of dooshbag.

**Disclaimer** I never actually watched the special, I saw TSN talking about it and made an assumption on how the hour went.

Is nobody reading what I posted? I said by the time hall hits free agency he has a good chance of being the best LW in the league. So chances are sharp and marleau aren't even in the nhl by the time hall becomes a ufa.

Yes but this is the Flames board. And all Edmonton news, notes or projections must be submitted through the Edmonton Is No Good Thread before the rest of the board must be subjected to them.

We will decide what Hall is or will be.

Gaudreau. If the Oilers offered Hall for Gaudreau right now I would laugh and hang-up the phone.
