I'm so happy I woke up for this final. This is one you remember for a long time. I'm really hoping Federer pulls this out.

Considering the circumstances (break point down), that half volley is one of the best shots I've ever seen

What a heartbreak for Federer. Think it was Novak saving that 3-3 game, Federer breaks there and he probably closes it out.

Meh.. Really wanted Fed to win. Great match though. We were treated to a great one. Congrats to both players.

I think that medical break helped Djokovic, he seemed to be winded a fair bit prior.

Either way, great match

Federer blowing the third set tiebreak was very key too. He had like 15 aces in the set and lost, he really needed that one.

Djokovic deserved to win, but Federer did not deserve to lose. The game of tennis is the real winner here today.

Those were some terrible questions though. "How will you describe the feeling today to your baby one day ?". Come on.

What a fantastic match, it could only have been better if Roger had won. That was my hope for today, still, it was one of the best matches I have watched since that epic Federer/Nadal match at Wimbledon.

We've been quiet lately.

Looks like Pospisil is riding a wave of momentum:

@Tennis_Canada
Pospisil def. Marchenko 7-5, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals in Atlanta. Querrey or Sela is next.

Bouchard is now a cover girl:

This is bizarre. Rising tennis star Taylor Townsend was forced to play doubles by herself. http://thesco.re/1lBOnaM

WTF

Super pumped up right now. I have become a big tennis fan over the last few years, and have always enjoyed major sporting events. My brother and I are going to NY in the first week of September. We just bought tickets for the first row on one of the ends for a session with the mens round of 16 and womens quarters (Louis Armstrong). We are also going to wait and see how things go to try to snag tickets later on if one of the Canadians are still going. (Not too concerned about price for a once in a lifetime). Yankees/Red Sox that week too!

Enjoy! It's simply incredible. I went for the first time last year and everything exceeded my expectations. It's so well organized from the second you make it through the gates, to Arthur Ashe, to the gift shops and even the massive food court area.

There's a really nice lounge that over looks some of the practice courts.

When you walk in and see the massive draw/bracket, it finally hits you that you are there.

A couple of tips: take the subway there (it's about a 20 minute direct ride from Grand Central) drink lots and lots of water, sunblock is a must and check out all of the promo booths (Chase, Benz, Wilson). If you're an AMEX card holder, head over there first, because you get a number of perks.

Thanks for the tips! I'll make sure to have my amex handy.

If you have tickets for the show courts can you stay on the grounds before and after the session or do they clear the grounds out in between?
