Nah... The Leafs terrible coach just makes the entire team play one dimension.

I think he just doesn't fit in the roster this year, hope he does well in Toronto
I have a feeling his numbers last year might have been a bit of an outlier though

His only 2 decent seasons came where he had zero expectations placed on him.
In his first 32 games, 3 points.
Then a 41 point season.
Then 15 points in 94 games over 2 seasons.
Then last years decent showing.
If the Leafs are counting on him to provide a punch I think there are going to be disappointed.
But of course, now that he's on the Leafs and Raymond isn't, hes better.

I have no idea how good Santorelli is, because I have not watched him, but dear god if your expecting anything from Raymond you will be disappointed. He is a 3rd line player who benefited from being pushed up to play 2nd line. Im so glad hes not back with toronto because hes honestly not that good. I know its dumb to bash a new UFA to a team who just signed him, because you guys are excited about him playing, but within a few months you will hate that contract no doubt

This is actually hilarious coming from a flames fan. Your team is littered with players nobody else wanted. Stajan, Raymond, Hudler, Smid, Bollig, and colborne. Dont act like your organization has anything the talk about right now, because your a long, LONG way from being competitive to where people want to play there

Yup. The irony was not lost on me.
Also, aren't the majority of these UFA's "Other Teams' Leftovers"?

Notice my excitement over him being "Cheap"? That falls-line with my comments in this thread stating he was ok for a million. In fact, his stats exceeded Macarthur's from the previous season for less money.
If he got 3 million for 3 years, my post would not have existed.
All I see is consistent posts.

Oh yeah...your posts are consistent allright...consistently seen though thick leaf goggles.
Last year Raymond was "great in training camp/preseason. Great pick-up."
But now that he is somewhere else?
He is...."very one-dimensional. ", "not very good" and..."soft and useless".
Regardless of what he is being paid...those are very very contradictoy statements about the player.
What a joke.

I've already explained this. He was a solid pickup for 1 million. for 9 million over 3 years, not so much. Why can't you get this?
And you can't say "Regardless what they are being paid". That is a huge issue in evaluating a player.

And you viewed him as a replacement for MacArthur, so obviously you regarded him as a top 6 player.
How has this big of a Leafs homer survived for so long?

Yes - because players changing teams means that nobody wants them. I'm sure no other GM would want Smid, Hudler, Stajan or Bollig, on their team. By your rationale what exactly is Frattin, Komarov, Phaneuf, JVR, Kessel and Franson then? At some point, teams traded or let those guys go so that must mean they are not wanted around the league? That's a joke.
Also - just so you are aware, this is a Flames board so yeah you are going to hear a lot of pro Flames talk. This may come as a surprise to you.

Actually, finances only go into evaluating a players worth, not if they're "soft" or "useless."
A player is the exact same amount of "soft" or "useless" regardless of whether he makes 1 million or 10.

It actually, and quite literally, has NOTHING to do when evaluating a player....zero...zip...nada.
It has eveything to do with how he fits on any given team in any given role, but as to his actual abilities it means bupkus. Value vs how a player actually plays are entirely different things.
Your exposed...its all good.

Incorrect. Macarthur became a 3rd liner in 2013' for the Leafs.
