In the next few years, between Raymond, Brodie, Gaudreau, Bennett and Poirier, the Flames are going to be a pretty fast team. Should be fun to watch.

In all fairness, Raymond received top six minutes in Toronto, both even strength and on the powerplay.

Happy for him to help us get to the floor. 19 goals is not terrible.

We should have him last year. The Flames will be a fun team to watch. Cannot wait till October

I doubt it. We probably could've gotten Havlat but for Richards, why would he choose Calgary over Chicago unless we paid him a LOT more?

Not sure you understand how the hockey market works.

Because Richards and Havlat would have signed here on discounts with that shot at the cup that we are giving them...

So who does Raymond play with next year?? I'd want him to play where he can succeed the most and I think playing on the left side, though he is able to play the right, would better suit his game.

Raymond - Backlund - Glencross

Sounds like a forechecking nightmare for the opposition if Hartely can get the same type of response out of a full season of Glenny like he did with Backs last year.

He uses his speed to bring the puck to the outside and then just turn it over, yet I still like him and think he's a definite upgrade on Galiardi.

As someone who can't stand Poe969's annoying drive-by posts that are almost always incorrect; This string of posts made me happy. Thanks

Raymond never really found a fit on Vancouver, bounced between the second and third line. Pay off that I believe is Kesler is a terrible center an when it comes to actually making his line mates better and getting them the puck. I think Backlund and Raymond could be a very good line next year.

I'm on board with the signing. Nothing great but solid.

That is fine and well but Byron was not going to be a Flame next year.

How does Raymond look on his off wing? His speed is his best asset. I was annoyed when we didn't sign him last season.

I hope he can continue on from his decent year last year. 20 goals...not bad. Good depth move.

I'm happy with the deal, fact is without Cammy we really only have Hudler as a bona fide top 6 winger. The kids should have no trouble getting those spots if they earn them.
