After a fast start with the free agency signing, suddenly the Oilers been quiet for close to a couple of hours now. Hmmmm... they ran out of DVD or something?

Fayne had 11 points last year.

Over $3.5 million.

Edmonton chock full of third-pairing guys now making a lot of money.

The Finger signing at least has a built in excuse - they thought he was Kurt Sauer.

Who do the Oilers think these two are?

Not quite sure about that, but it would be awesome to leave them with no hockey team and a brand new empty arena. Mind you, no hockey team would be better than what they have now.

MacTavish probably just sat down, put his legs on his desk, leaned back and clasped his hands behind his head and whispered to himself

" .... nailed it"

Nope. Pouliot is a reasonable replacement for Gagner, and they are half a million less with that addition. Fayne is a nobody. He's an Adam Pardy. He's a number 6 defenseman. He's like Engelland, only younger and more expensive. No reason for this guy to be making $4 million a season.

Pierre McGuire could only call Fayne "stable"

Aaron Ward laughed and said that's an interesting word to describe Fayne

Dan Tencer @dantencer
Interesting. RT @ReidWilkins MacT says Fayne asked for a shorter term but Oilers wanted a longer one.
