Makes sense also when you look at the forwards Ottawa drafted under him in Lazar and Zibanejad. He likes the tenacious hard working, skilled center.

But by the sounds of it they've met with Draisaitl multiple times and since the combine.

I'm sensing more interest in Leon's camp from the Flames.

And of course he's gonna say they were "good" talks. Burke is still very high on him. But by what was said it's obvious he likely isn't one of their top guys for the #4 pick.

There is a lot of wishful thinking and inconsistent reasoning behind the projections that have Bennett to the Flames. It is as though his unique attributes would be valued only by CGY. It makes no sense. The very same reasons Calgary wants him are the same reasons the other teams would too. And I say this as someone who wants to draft Draisatl.

I think they'll trade down. Probably out on a limb on that but I have this feeling.

I'll be mega excited if we get one of Ekblad, Reinhart or Bennett.

I'll be moderately excited if we get Draisaitl, Dal Colle or Ritchie.

I'll be slightly shocked but accepting if we get Perlini, Nylander or Fleury.

Anyone else at #4 and I will literally have a cow.

How is it wishfull thinking? Lot's of talk outside CP has the top four going in different order. Just because you don't see it that way doesn't mean it's untrue.

It's not wishful thinking - lots of mock drafts have this order.

I'm pretty sure all 30 teams value the attributes Bennett has, not just Calgary.

Okay, but you realize there are three other very good players available, and the teams above us only get to pick one each, right?

Bennett is good. Reinhart, Draisaitl, and Ekblad are also good. One of them will fall to us. Why is it wishful thinking to say it might be Bennett?

To what extent these attributes are valued by teams is the question though. It's not wishful thinking that the three teams above us like the other three players more - Florida needs defense, Edmonton needs size, and so it becomes a toss up between which of the two Sams Buffalo likes more. Some Sabres fans are already assuming Reinhart is theirs and there seems to be a slight preference for him. I think their management has spoken more highly of Reinhart than Bennett.

Will be "mega" excited if they draft Reinhart

Won't be as initially excited if they draft Draisaitl or Ekblad, but will get more and more excited in the following hours/days/weeks.

Will be perfectly happy if they draft Bennett.

Will be taken off guard if they take Dal Colle or Ehlers, but not upset.

Anyone else and I will walk down the road to the nearest ranch and punch a hole clean through a cow.

I will be happy with any of Draitsaitl, Reinhart, Bennett, Ekblad, or Ritchie.
