Honestly, I think I'd rather just stand pat at 4th OA. Draisaitl is my least favourite of the top 4.
That's a terrible trade for the Flames. Import an enigma and trade one of our best prospects to move up 2 spots in a "top 4" draft.

sureLoss doesn't necessarily endorse this as fact; he posts any bit of news, even when it's from garbage journos... Quoting 'Boomer' is enough to imply it's bullcrap.

I would be happier with #4 and Hudler for #2 and Stewart.

Not a knock on Hudler, because I like him but you have to give to get.

Boom absolutely has sources within the Flames organization.

Sure, that's the only reasonable thought process... but I really doubt that #4 + Sven = #2. At least not this year.

This is just typical Boomer spewing off about his own speculations. If the Flames trade up I think it will be to get Reinhart or Ekblad, maybe even Bennett, but not Draisaitl, can't see it.
I don't think there is anything to see here, Boomer is about as reliable as Eklund.

Agreed but I'm not so sure that it was the move to the wing more than just gaining NHL experience that was the catalyst, but your argument is more than valid one way or the other. Perhaps he is a better winger. Draisaitl - J.H. Colborne could be a nasty line for the opposition, I think that we are just starting to see what Colborne is made of, good in front of the net in close, big puck possession center in Leon to gain the zone, and then J.H. dictating the play. I likey.

Sven is much more valuable than Gagner. Gagner couldn't fetch a 2nd round pick.

There's no point in moving up if the player you want is Draisaitl.

If you think he goes top 3, just pick whoever is left from the top 4.

I am sure he does but he also speculates all the time and it comes to nothing. Can anybody name a time Boomer legit broke something regarding a player coming to Calgary?

#4 + Sven could = #2 + ___

Buffalo has a slough of draft picks, could snag another 2nd?

I said I could live with it, but I'd rather just stand pat. I also just pulled it out of thin air as a deal I could see Buffalo chomping at the bit. Baertschi would be a good fit in Buffalo & I could see him looking very good in a Sabres uniform.

To pull the trigger on that deal there would need to be a big something added from the Sabres.

Exactly. I would be very surprised if Colborne played C for the Flames ever again. Hes a winger.

As for Backs and Stajan, you have to wonder if one of them will be moved sooner than later. I hope its not Backs as he's starting to show some serious growth as an NHL'er. But Stajan just signed a new 4 year deal...

But, be it Draisaitl, Bennett or Reinhart, diplaces one of them. I hope its Stajan and I hope we can move him while he has some value as a solid FO guy and shutdown 2-way C.

That is what happens when you jump on CP 10 minutes after waking up.

Yeah, Molberg probably does know a lot of folk in the org... but I don't think he's above making stuff up (or at least deliberately trying to make a mountain out of a molehill) for the purposes of making tongues wag.

The fact that (IMO) nobody is as belligerently opinionated as he is without being a bit of a troll?

Let's be clear
- He said that he has heard that the Flames want to move to #2.
- He speculated that they like Leon

So this commentary was in part rumors and in part speculation.

People want inside information and then rip guys apart when they provide it.

Tough crowd to please.
