Default 2014/15 Barclay's Premier League Thread

With the release of this year's fixtures, I think we can put the 13/14 thread to rest. I'm going to be in Europe during the fall and will probably make it over to London for a game or two. I don't know if I can stomach a trip to the Emirates for the NLD but I might go over for the Man U fixture on 12/28.

It's such a wonderful thing that there's only a month between the world cup and premier league being back on.

hmm i wanted to post this somewhere but my team Luton Town (avid fan since i was 5) has joined Tranmere Rovers (Lockes appointed CP team!).
This is 3 tiers below the EPL but i wanted to make a shout out to a team thats gone thru hell and back in the last 10 years.

We also hit our heights and won a cup in the same year as the flames!

Looks like Ander Herrera from Bilbao will be Manchester Uniteds first signing this summer. BBC, Sky, Times and Telegraph all reporting that this should be done in due course. Fee is around £29m - similar to his buyout clause without United actually triggering it. Awesome signing ... was really bummed when the deal fell apart last summer. Better late than never I guess.

With QPR being promoted, 18 year old Canadian Michael Petrasso has a good chance of seeing a few minutes in the Premier League next year. QPR and their fans are very high on him. He will probably be loaned out to a Championship or League One side for the year though.

I guess Hoilett is Canadian too, but until he puts on the Maple Leaf I won't care about his play.

Doesn't look like Yaya will be at city next season between the birthday cake and his now dead brother statements.

he's close to completing that task

still have Carrick, bring back Defoe from Toronto, Lamps doesn't start in MLS until spring 2015, 6 month loan

that fan Harry let play in a pre-season friendly

get the whole gang back together

so what are Liverpool fans thoughts on Suarez now

I thought that without incident this summer he would have gone to RM or Barca this summer, but now with the suspension his value plummets

do you still want him at the club?

Well it's kind of a strange scenario. I mean, he was a biter before he bit Chielleni, and he's still a biter after. I'm not really sure this event changes much, except as you said, his market value likely drops and he becomes less likely to be sold.

It's all really unfortunate because for the last year he seemed to be getting a little bit more stable mentally. LFC has put a lot into Suarez, including money, psychiatric work etc, and now Suarez has gone and let the club and it's fans down again.

For me personally, I really have no attachment to him. As long as we can get the right price and adequately replace him then I have no issues with him leaving. The problem is that it's very difficult to find anyone even close to his level. Although if we could get Sanchez and Shaqiri then that might be a pretty good start.

looks like Shaw is done too

Quote:
Manchester United’s rebuilding project continues apace, with Luke Shaw due to have a medical ahead of a proposed move from Southampton.

Having completed the signing of Ander Herrera earlier on Thursday, it now seems as if the highly rated 18-year-old defender will soon be following the Spaniard into Old Trafford.

Shaw is due to have a medical at the club’s training ground as his much-mooted move to United edges closer.

Herrera and Shaw ... is my Playstation still on?

awesome, this is a real step forward. Two young energetic guys for positions where we needed an upgrade ... extremely happy about this. Yes, they are expensive, but I simply don't care how much the Glazers have to pay

I don't think they ever played together though, as Carrick was on loan alot as a youth?

Herreira & Shaw:

1/2 way through the transfers required. The thing with Herreira, is that despite being a deep holder, he LOVES to shoot the ball.
Cautiously optimistic.
