The Flames can afford to develop a kid like Goldobin if he falls to their 34th pick. A draft day that includes Goldobin along with whomever they get @4, is a great draft day.

Goldobin seems like he would be a good pick there, but I'm guessing he's gone, and I'm also guessing if he's there, our 2 2nds and perhaps our 3rd are D-men.
I'm guessing with more potential forming in our forward core, especially after the 4th pick this year, management is going to want more darts at the D-Core.

Makes me wonder if Goldobin will have the patience to stick in NA while a team waits for him to develop his defensive game but yeah, he has stats to drool by.

If Goldobin was not Russian, he'd probably be rated 12-15
I'm not sure I'd pick him though. It would solely depend on the interview with him to see where his head is at.

I agree, he is a very good player. If you are looking at just the player he'd be a no brainer at 34. The only thing that would be concerning if he's more like Radulov with his attitude. If he's not a problem and he's on the board at 34 he'd be worth taking a flier on.

I think someone will take a chance in Goldobin with their 1st round pick this season. Doubt he's there at 34, and if he is I'm not really sure he's the kind of player that fits the mold for the success of the Calgary Flames. "Little to no defensive effort"? I don't like the sound of that.
