Our third jersey from last year. It wasn't a curse, the team just sucked.

I dont know if this qualifies as strange but im so god damn envious and covet the Flyers gorgeous home jerseys. Nicest hockey jerseys ever imo, better than any original 6 I've seen. Love them to death. Cannot be understated.

When Crosby first came to Calgary and everyone booed him for no reason. I thought it was hilarious and wish people across the league still did it.
Phoenix Coyotes. I used to think they should move but after attending a game there I really hope they figure out a way to make it work and are able to grow their fanbase.

Exactly!! Especially Babchuk for me. His goals were always strangely satisfying. Was gutted when he wasnt given any chance to prove himself his last year here.

^^ for sure! I was devastated when kotalik had that amazing preseason but blew out both knees against the stinking oilers. Spelt the end for him here. Was a big body, big shot

The entire Flames roster from 92-93 mainly because it was my team when I got my first PC in 1994 and played NHL Hockey on it (probably 90% of my spare time).
My starting lineup looked like this:
Fleury - Nieuwendyk - Stern
Roberts - Reichel - Makarov
Ranheim - Otto - Ashton
Paslawski - Skrudland - Berube
MacInnis - Suter
Musil - Johansson
Yawney - Dahl
Vernon
That was a heck of a team, together with Hawks probably the strongest roster in the game. The top 6 had a lots of 90 and 95 ratings for speed, shot power, passing, etc. while MacInnis demolished everybody with his 100 shot and Otto was almost unbeatable in the faceoff circle. What a game, and what a roster that was.

I liked the Atlanta Flames for some reason. Not my favourite team but they were pretty good for a young team with players such as Lysiak and Plett.

- Nino Niederreiter. No real reason for this aside from finding him a great and entertaining player in Portland.
- Jonas Hiller. First stop mentality, his masks, and probably his left handed play. Might be because I follow the exact same goaltending methodology...
- Jay Bouwmeester. Maybe not strange as much as "didn't hate him as much as half this board"
- Minnesota Wild logo.
- Tore Vikingstad. That name...just...that name.
- Peter Loubardias. I actually liked his completely insane commentary.

How is that strange? I thought the thread says 'Strange Likes/Loves'. Something that you like/love that kind of tough to explain or whatever. Having Gary Roberts as your favorite Flames of all time is not strange at all.
Strange to me is having to like the Vancouver Canucks or the Oilers or something you or the majority dislike.

But Lundqvist is so perfectly suited for the Rangers and NY in general. He dresses and looks like a movie star. He gets invited to many VIP functions and is friends with a ton of celebs. And yet he is humble and grounded with his roots and plays his heart out each and every game and has been the best goalie in the world for a while now. He founded the Henrik Lundqvist foundation. It's impossible to hate the guy.
I can't bring myself to ever cheer for the Rangers as long as St. Louis and Richards are on that team. But I hope that Hank wins a cup before his time is done. Not counting Brodeur, he might be the only goalie in the league at the moment carving out for himself a HOF career. Rangers are damn lucky to have him and he is one of the few players in the league who is well worth his high paying salary.

Jarmy Myllys - Played seven seasons for Luleå Hockey in Sweden and made every kid in Northern Sweden want to suit up in goal. Like Kipper, he tended to be the silent type who enjoyed a beer or five.
Tomas Holmström - Might be my favourite player ever.

Wow that is strange.
For some reason I've always liked the Wild, even during the snooze-fest era.

Ed Belfour's mask when he was with the Hawks. Actually I enjoyed a lot of the goalie masks from that era. It seemed like that was when they really stepped it up in terms of artwork.
