With a 1.5 game lead on the O's, the Jays are guaranteed to end the day in first in the division ...

... but it'd be great to see them with a 2.5 game lead!

Jays managed to manufacture some runs today with the speed of Gose and Reyes. Things are going well right now.

Good win today...leave it to McGowan to make it interesting again.

Its a ways away, but if the Jays can keep up a slightly above .500 pace or better the next 3 weeks or so, they'd have to be considered buyers at the trade deadline.

At that point, we'll see if the Rogers money that seemed to dry up this past offseason is available as AA has said it always has been.

But, keep the good times rolling...Jays haven't lead the division this late in the season in 14 years, since 2000 (when it was early July).

It wasn't McGowan who made the ninth 'interesting' so much as Dickey. Still, a fantastic start for RA.

Yankees win and Orioles lose so again a good day for the Blue Jays. Lets hope the rest of the division keeps spinning it's tires while the Jays surge .

When the Cubs and Blue Jays discussed a Jeff Samardzija deal this offseason, the Cubs asked for Drew Hutchison plus either Aaron Sanchez or Marcus Stroman, Rosenthal reports. Especially in retrospect, that would have been a steep price to pay — Hutchison has been terrific in the Jays’ rotation so far this year, and while Sanchez has struggled with walks at Double-A New Hampshire, Stroman continues to look like a top prospect. The Jays are not likely to pursue Samardzija again this summer.

I'd gladly do Stroman/Sanchez + Norris + something minor though.
