Yep. The internet...no problem. That's just one guy being a dick to another. Nothing legal there. But the hot water bumps it up. I'd recommend turning the hot water back on, and proceeding legally to recover your $250, if it means so much that you can't just eat it as a 'bad roommate life lesson'.

I'm not even sure he could recoup $100 of that $250 legally, since it was part of a bet if I've read correctly, which begs the question, is it even worth it to take someone to court over that amount?

I think we need to know what the bet was before we can offer any further judgement. Team Canada related?

Maybe make it legal and amend your lease with him, hot water not included in rent, it now costs 150.

Money guy was more of a dual poster than a returning poster. It was one of the oddest things I've ever seen on cp. The weirdest thing was when he used his second account to agree with himself in a thread he started.

I usually give 'em the run around for a few weeks, if they insist on paying with paypal but also want a phone number I just go with the non-emergency CPS number. Or another good one, play along like you'll sell it to them and when they want to pick up the car give them an address in the middle of nowhere a few hours out of town. Or like what squiggs96 said give them the address of a police station, I like that one.

Speaking of Kijiji, I really hate how people/dealers list ever brand of car in their ads in order to get views from other searches. How often does that work anyway? Does someone really start looking for a BMW 2002 or something, see your Civic, and think "hey you know what, that's actually the car I will buy."?
I wish Kijiji would do something about that.

It's kind of annoying that dealers get to list so many vehicles on there. You put up an ad this morning, and by evening, it's on page >30.

Now I'm curious what car it is? Any photos? Ideally of both before and after, ha.

No engine pictures unfortunately but some exterior ones I can dig up. Took some when I ran into it again as well.
'03 Jetta, VW Canada 50th anniversery addition, nothing special to most people but it had a pretty rare engine for that generation, the newer updated 24v VR6 paired to the 6spd that was later only found in the special edition GLI's but those only came with the 1.8T engines that I didn't like. Then the real fun started with a GTX3071R turbo. I'm sure I don't need to tell you how much fun a turbo'd 6cyl is
This was all
before the VW scene turned into what it is today... which is trash imo.

Sounds like it was a great sleeper car with that engine.
Unfortunately once a lot of cars go down that path where they start being screwed around with by kids, it usually doesn't take too long before it's gone for good. I'm not sure I'd be considering that car again.

Well it's not turbocharged anymore, I'm guessing the kid broke something because I think that's a completely different engine now. Can be a tricky engine to find so it must be a very high mileage one, guessing from how much it's leaking. Guy that owns it now said pretty much every seal is toast.
If I were to buy it back it would become a complete teardown project. Maybe import a high mileage or written off German one which came with awd, swap the drive train... Been a while since I've had a proper project car and summer is coming

Golf Traders does something similar with golf clubs on Kijij.

Moved into a new place at the beginning of the month and aside from the normal stuff with rentals (i.e. a bunch of stuff needing to be fixed by the landlord and taking forever), which I'm okay with, there is one unexpected annoyance: the sheer volume of emergency vehicles that drive past this place with their sirens blaring.
Seriously it's like 3-4 per day at least it seems.

Glitter. Especially the stuff on cards, streamers, wrapping paper and boxes. Stuff flakes off and you see it on countertops and floors for the next week. Tough to clean up without a good wipe or vaccuum.
People so normally concerned about "living healthy" are probably accidentally inhaling this crap and messing up lungs.
