Teams will be looking to dump salary. We could pull a reverse Regehr trade and move a decent prospect and plug for a good player and a cap dump?

I could see the Colorado 2nd in play to add a 24-28 year old 2nd/3rd liner (Chris Stewart?)

Teams are always looking for cap flexibility and the flames are going to be in a position to buy low and take back salary without sending much back.

There should be absolutely NO worries about hitting the cap floor. Personally I can't even believe some posters think this will be a real issue?

Aside from the first stretch of games in oct-nov before he first got injured, I didn't have any big problems with Glencross. Also he did end up producing around a .70 PPG pace in the limited number of games he played. People were just overly sour about a bad and memorable stretch at the beginning of the season. It was ridiculous to see people wanting to rush him out of town, despite bringing top value for his contract pretty much every season prior. When he gets on a mean streak, he's a valuable player to have in your lineup. The Blackhawks were interested in acquiring him for good reason.

Yes it does.
Tavares 5.5 AAV beats Pacioretty at 4.5 AAV hands down.
Tavares needs a new agent...

I actually think that overpaying our RFAs next year is a great idea... if it's to long term deals that will be good value when we expect to be contending.

We already should have gotten a 2nd or 3rd in the Tanguay deal for the salary/term dump.

Agree with this. We've given him a lot of crap once Tanguay left. Seemed like the next guy in line. I don't mind him on our team, he scores, he makes opportunities for other players sometimes. If Baertschi somewhat turns out, the kid can be slotted on the third line. But as of now, I like the LW side with
Johnny and Curtis as our 1/2 until other players prove themselves otherwise to take Glen's spot.

meh if you can't attract free agents see, you have this contest see, you put one gold wrapper in a completely random bottle of beer and send it out to distribution and sale and the fan that finds the gold wrapper wins a one year 10 point 1 milliion dollar contract right.

Then you play the fan in one game, against the Bruins, and he gets annihilated on live T.V., but its totally worth it because he's got a 10.1 million dollar contract.

Everyone wins.
