So on both Friday and Saturday night, a neighbour's car alarm went off about once an hour. I live at the nexus of two townhouse complexes, so I would guess ~40+ units are within direct earshot where this vehicle is parked.
I actually don't know what exact vehicle it is. If I did, at this point I might take a brick to the driver side window, pop the hood, and disconnect the battery.
So...yea...car alarms grind my gears. Big time.

There is a group of kids that play in the street, right at the opening of my street. They are so irritating and stupid. They just look and see a car coming and they casually walk to the side. Sometimes, they will try and fake you out, like they are going to cross or run into the street and you have to slam on your brakes or swerve.
Someone is going to get hurt some day. I always thought to myself that one day I would walk over and talk to the kids and their parents. I imagined the parents didn't know what their kids were doing.
... Today, I drove into the street and the dad was with them when they were doing this and he laughed. Your kids are going to get hurt or killed one day. I doubt you or anyone else will be laughing then. It's so infuriating and scary.

People who put in offers to buy a place when they don't have financing lined up, then cannot get said financing after they put in the offer.
Jerks.

Not sure about the age of the kids in this story, but this is an example of d-bag parent syndrome.
Sadly, if the kids are young it is not their fault.

I would say they are old enough to know better, had their parents taught them that pretending to walk in front of a car is stupid and dangerous for everyone involved. I think they range in age from 9 to 13.

Up to a certain point kids will do what they are taught, I would suggest 9-13 yrs are old enough to know better, but still just coming off the heavy parental influence.
Have you thought of approaching the parent? Put it on you, say you are concerned that you might hit one of them, and are concerned for their safety.

(Crazy) hockey parents. Worked an Atom AAA minor hockey tournament over the weekend (so 10-11 year olds), and there's many, many nice parents at these things. But there's also a healthy dose of just plain insanity, and its not exactly rare either. We had to kick a parent out of the building for melting down on a 14 year old ref from the stands, as well as countless threats of the same to other parents over the course of the weekend tournament, some of the stuff I saw was just plain embarrassing. Not rub-a-dub looking types either, but successful, well dressed, "normal" looking people. All think their sons are going to the Show (or already in it).
Thank jebus my potential future son will inherit my mediocre athletic genes, so I'll probably never have to worry about AAA politics. But if I somehow produced an athletic kid interested in sports, I really think I'd try to steer them towards other sports than hockey, as long as we live in this country anyway. Not sure I could sit in the stands with some of those crazies every day, or subject my kid to that nonsense.

was an assistant coach this year, we had a group of good parents, but I met some from another Novice program that were nuts. Not looking forward to that going forward.

Good for you/the tourney for kicking that ####### out.
Sadly, it is not just AAA hockey. Last year my buddy was challenged to a fight at a novice game in Ponoka.
One thing I have noticed, is the more idiotic a parent acts, the likely it is that that individual played any level of high sport.

I know in our association, the teams are picked by parents, not always kids.
There are some that nobody wants on their team.

That's crazy, but sadly not totally shocking. I am somewhat surprised to hear the age level though (although I suppose I shouldn't be), I've done these tournaments before and the only two I had that were completely issue free in that regard were the 6-8 year old range (plus the hockey moms are way hotter, an added ocular bonus when you're stuck at a rink for 12+hrs/day all weekend). I found once they got to the hitting levels is when the crazy really comes out in the stands. But maybe I just got lucky with those groups, I suppose crazy is crazy, no matter what level you're at.
On a complete side note, talking about this reminded me of a CBC comedy mini-series a few years back, called The Tournament. I only caught the last episode (there's 6), but I laughed my butt off, it really nails the wide range of insane hockey parents and all the silly politics that go on, with a healthy dose of Canadiana mixed in. Recommend.

Soon there will be a brawl in my office. Half the women are always too cold, and half are always too hot. The two camps are headed for WWIII.

I've officiated for a few years now and I can second everything that your saying. Part of being an adult official is to help mentor young kids that are in officiating. I'm not sure of the numbers exactly but the Hockey Canada has a pathetically low retention number for officials under the age of 16.
Given the things that I have seen heard I am not the least bit shocked. During supervisions ( I sit In the crowd with a clipboard and watch the game like everyone else) I have had multiple instances in which parents are down right crossing the line. Obviously it can be very intimidating for a young kid. I often approach the parent and explain the obvious flaws in his behavior and try to educate them.
It is an issue that is plaguing minor hockey. Even as an adult when I take verbal abuse it can bother me. When you skate 5-6 games a weekend it can wear you down. In all honesty had I gotten into it at a young age I likely would not still be doing it today
