I'm worried about vote splitting handing Ford a win as well, but my guess is that one or more candidates will drop out closer to the election.

Also posting the Rob Ford mod for Civ V that came across the other day. Maintenance costs are huge, but you do get Doug Ford.

There were all kinds of tweets last night about Ford at the Leafs game, including a few pictures.

He was clearly wasted, sweating like a pig, and security intervened on at least two occasions. My understanding is that he eventually left on his own accord and under his own power. The crowd was (hopefully) mocking him with chants of "Ford more years".

What annoys me most is that a decent guy like Justin Trudeau says F@@@ at a boxing event and gets lambasted for it (I'm not a Trudeau guy fwiw) but Ford continues his complete asshattery and retains strong support (30%, just behind Chow's 36%).

Rob Ford, known internationally for his illegal drug use, emerged from his office on Tuesday afternoon to announce a new member of his campaign team: disgraced former sprinter Ben Johnson, known internationally for his steroid use.

Joining them was Sam Tarasco, an actor from Trailer Park Boys, a popular television comedy about petty criminals.

Johnson and Tarasco are the first prominent people to sign on to Ford’s team other than brother and campaign manager Doug Ford. Rob Ford said they would be joining him at events.

AFAIK, Trudeau's polling numbers didn't take a hit at all for the boxing incident. It was just The Harper Government trying (and failing) to attack him over it.

Mayor Rob Ford tells the Toronto Sun that he is “ready to take a break” from the mayoral election campaign to “go get help.”

The decision to immediately step away from the campaign — while staying on the ballot — comes after the Toronto Sun exclusively obtained a new raunchy audio recording of Ford ranting and swearing in an Etobicoke bar.

Mayor Ford told the Sun columnist Joe Warmington that he realizes “it’s time” and that he “wants” to “deal with his issues.” He said he is being urged to not leave the mayoral race by people around him.

The recording, covertly taped by a patron of Sullie Gorman’s Monday night, captures the mayor being unruly as he’s ordering booze, complaining about his wife Renata and making lewd comments about mayoral contender Karen Stintz.

“I’d like to f-----g jam her (Stintz), but she doesn’t want ... I can’t talk like this ... I’m so sorry,” Ford says on the recording. “I forgot there’s a woman in the house.”

Excellent. I know the knee jerk reaction in this thread will be to make a bunch more jokes and make this out to be the next screw up in th elong line of screw ups.

But whether this is semi-forced or completely under his own will, it's great news. At the end of the day he's still a human being, and hopefully this will help him avoid an early death.

The clip, which was viewed by two Globe and Mail reporters, shows Mr. Ford taking a drag from a long copper-coloured pipe, exhaling a cloud of smoke, his right arm convulsing. The footage is part of a package of three videos the dealer said was surreptitiously filmed around 1:15 a.m., and which he says he is now selling for “at least six figures.”

With a hockey game blaring in the background, Mr. Ford is also heard to say he would not be able to vote for Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak because he agrees with “all the gays.”

“I might have to vote Green, I don’t what I’m going to f—– vote,” he says.

Mr. Ford also can be heard to say that he would rather lose the mayoral election to Olivia Chow than anyone, and that if he loses “he’s not coming back.”

“Once I’m done, I’m done; I’m going to California,” he said.

Mayor Rob Ford says if he doesn’t deal with his demons, “I know I am going to die.”

And with that, he told me he is going to “step away” from his re-election campaign and the mayor’s job to “deal with” his addictions.

He will go into rehab immediately.

“I know I have to,” the 44-year-old mayor said in an interview. “I know it is time.”
