So I'm guessing a couple line-up changes for tomorrow based soley on the fact this one went as long as it did. Damn, I hope this team isn't out early because they ran into a hot goaltender. The experience some of these future Flames could gain during this playoff run could be priceless.
They need to scratch Gillies and dress Jooris on Saturday, having that extra depth even if just 1 player can mean alot in the playoffs and I swear I never saw Gillies on the ice more than 1 time in this game. They also need to get Baertschi more PP time, seems like he was behind Max and Locke in PP time for LW.
While he had flashes of excellence I wasn't over impressed with him overall. Too many giveaways, not always skating hard.
There will be one change for sure as it looks like Derek Smith is injured/ill. He didn't play at all after the second period and he had very limited shifts in the 1st and 2nd.
Huge loss for us as SOB/Smith has been our top pair.
Cundari being lent to the Wolves is now pretty regrettable isnt it?
Wish hed had a better start to the season and wasnt put in the situation that he is now.
Also wish Sieloffs road to recovery was a little quicker.
No. You can't really look at it in hindsight.
The way I look at it, is Cundari needed to have more ice, and he wasn't going to get it with the Heat. They did it for the sake of his development. He was too good and experienced to do the same thing they did for Ramage and send him to the ECHL.
Locke was a good pickup because it's a team full of rookies with no playoff experience. He's a leader that will help everyone through this tough first loss I think.
Had Sieloff recovered faster, or Wotherspoon not been injured, Cundari would still be suffering for ice time. It was a gamble, I think it was a good one. Cundari looked good and the Flames brought him back into the fold with a call up to show him he hasn't been abandoned.
