I think that's an issue on most NHL teams. There just doesn't seem to be a ton of RH D coming up.

It boggles my mind. Back in the 80's when I was in black ice street pads, all the kids in the neighborhood were all right hand shots. Even at the rink in the lower leagues, most kids shot right.

Must be a shift in the generation or something. Even my oldest son who's a righty, shoots left.

Not to sound like Don Cherry, I think it's the European influence. Most European players are left handed shots. Their systems just work better with them. Kids idolize them and copy them and end up as left handed shots.

Funny enough, I'm a lefty and shoot right when I'm forward. I also catch right in goal.

Well catching right makes sense. I catch left in net (and in baseball) as I throw or hold the stick better with the right. More control.
