Any chance given Kerr's personality is already known in Calgary this was done tongue-in-cheek?

Not sure, just musing. I would love for him to go back to calling Sportsnet games though.

He's actually lives in Calgary and is a Flames fan. I remember reading an article in the Herald during the 2004 run that profiled him and said as much.
The fact that so many people seem to think he's an Oiler fan is a testament to his impartiality on air.

so what if the broadcaster they hire is an oilers fan or a vegan or a scorpio, what does it matter? as long as the guy has a likeable vioce and can add some insight.
I'd expect that the broadcast will have a homer slant to it because it is meant to cater to flames fans.
given thier track record one would think that SNet will hire Millions or Lubo!!!!
I wonder if rob Kerr is still seeing the sun in his eyes after that photo shoot.....and since when does he not wear his goggles.......

Definitely looking forward to May 5th... Always enjoyed the afternoon show with Kerr. Now if I can just get the kid to let me actually listen to the radio while we are drinving home!

Mittens.
Mittens are the key. I keep a spare pair in the car at all times for....emergencies.
If someone tries to change my radio station while I'm driving they have to put the mittens on. It is remarkably difficult to adjust car audio settings while wearing mittens.

I cannot see on that ad what time Kerr is on the radio, can someone in Calgary confirm. I actually really liked Kerr as a PBP guy but I don't know him or his style as much as you guys prior to him going on TV.

I keep thinking about this stupid promo photo. Why even do it?
The guy is being brought back to radio, is it super important that we know what he looks like through some third-rate promo photo?

Seeing a picture of him probably does more harm than good

He needs to stop his insider segembts on the Fan. I see they shut him down early this year from his Maher in the morning and his flames at 5 segment. Listening to him ramble on and consistently mess up players names is frustrating. I never listen to the games on the radio so if people still like him there then keep him but let Loubo do those 8am and 5pm segments

I hope not. Maher and Loubo are a VERY good radio duo.

I know Kelly's family, and he's not a Flames fan. If there's any team he does cheer for (which he doesn't really anymore), it's the Oilers.

Relatively confident once you make the NHL you don't support teams you never played for. He might have been an Oiler fan growing up or something... but I doubt he's rocking a Hall jersey in basement when he's not on TV.
