The Pemberton Line up is insane, sadly there's a family reunion booked already for that weekend, dammit.

Judging from the bands that are playing nearby festivals, and what X plays, I would think it would be a combo of:
rise against, tokyo police club, metric, modest mouse, cage the elephant, stars, arctic monkeys, broken bells, foster the people, walk off the earth, mounties, head of the herd
But we'll find out April 28.

haha that Tail Creek festival is straight out of crazy town, it's straight out of Woodstock '99. And they're throwing in motor sports? Is the Fort Mac/Airdrie/farm boy crowd gonna shell out cash for such a thing?
Don't get me wrong, I've seen a number of those bands previously... by choice. And if it were in YYC I might just go (yes, I'm a sucker for meat head rock/metal) if the price was right, but a 3 day camping in the mud draw?

Ummm, is that a mis-print with Foster the People thrown in as the 4th band in a small town festival in Alberta, like it ain't no thang?

Did you take that picture yourself in Sylvan Lake? There's something awfully suspicious about it. Every band on there makes sense for a small town festival, except Foster the People, especially the way they have them so small on the poster and not at the top.
Just odd all around. The other thing is, google doesn't bring back any results for this festival and there's no mention of this on Foster the People's tour schedule on their website.

So EDC:LV and Ibiza was great last year and since I didn't end up making it out to Coachella this year... Guess who just bought tickets to this:
(Oh this is only half the line up so far. 2 more phases to be announced)
Croatia-bound. Last summer before I'm 25 and old, gotta do it right

Nope, a mate of mine took the photo. He is a straight up guy, so I trust him.
I poked around the "truechannelentertainment" website (which took all of 2 mins) and didn't see anything.
I check the Sam Roberts site and they say they are in Ontario on the 18th of August.
I know a couple of people involved with the town, so I think I will poke around a bit. If this is a "true" show, then all the planning/infrastucture will already be in place with the town.
Wait out.

Last time they had a concert at the pier, I remember the townsfolk being up in arms about all of the noise, booze, drunken hooligans etc. I wonder if they've changed their tune?

Tuff to say, they did an event last summer, "Shake the Lake" which was very family focused.
I figure an event of this size would be planned through the town already.
Just waiting to hear a bit more...

I'd imagine if Foster the People was coming to Alberta/Sylvan Lake, it would line up with XFest and Sonic Boom, which are happening Labour Day weekend.
