Darn. As a Flames fan I liked Gillis a lot.

Some people choose to look at possibilities favorably instead of negative like you.

If all you have is personal attacks shows how strong your argument is.

Its not a personal attack, its the truth.

You always down play Flames players and prospects. Granlund has been great in the AHL this year and looked very solid in 6 games with the Flames.

But of course, he may only turn out to be a 3rd/4th liner according to you.

You're already bashing Knight who has had a great first pro year and Agostino who was playing college two weeks ago.

Give your head a shake.

if you take the 'pessimistic' view of any teams prospect base you are going to be right probably 90% of the time

most guys don't meet expectations the fan bases have for them

Saying that Agostino and Knight aren't likely to be full time NHLer's isn't bashing them at all. It is most likely what will happen.

It's great that Granlund has been impressive in the AHL so have lots of young guys over the years and they don't all turn out to be top 6 NHLers for top teams. He has the chance to develop into that but will have to grow a lot more in his overall game.

Every team in the NHL has young guys like this in their organizations. If this is the best Feaster has to offer it is far from a solid reason to hire him especially when you look at all the negatives surrouding him.

It isn't being negative or even pessimistic it is just the reality that exists with prospects.

I think Colborne at least has already shown he can be a third liner and Granlund has a chance to play top six... but I'm with moon for the most part.

You addressed me as a poster not the reasons in my post that is a personal attack.

And no I don't always down play the prospects. I didn't do it with Monohan, Poirier and Klimchuk in this thread alone, but it isn't worth it to go into this as me as a poster has no place in this thread and what I post is what should be responded to.

Show me a prospect that "every NHL team has" that has put up AHL numbers like Granlund as a 20 year old. Ill be waiting.

You don't think teams in the NHL have guys like Granlund, Knight and Agostino in their organiztion?

What team doesn't have guys like them?

Respond to my above post moon.

Granlund is also on a different level then Knight/Agostino.

2nd signature move of his - outside of the whole negativity vibe and all of course.

I would agree with moon. Every team in the league has Agostino's and Hanowskis. Most have a Granlund too. We're excited because we've had an absolute dearth of prospects for so long, but some people are still guilty of comparing what we have to our past, instead of the rest of the league.

Guys I would say are comparable or better to Granlund:

Spoiler!

Have a few more teams to go through but have to get my kids to sleep will get to them after.

I don't like to punish teams for having young guys so good that they are in the league. Seems like a silly way to view teams futures by punishing them for being so good that their young guys are already contributing at the NHL level. Some are a year older but if you want exact comparables then I guess you are right every team doesn't have an exact comparable but I am not sure that matters much when those team are beating us with guys that are pretty damn close.

Of course he is which is why I included him in a different group and have him as a likely NHLer just not likely top 6 on a top team.

With all the talk of Bob Nicholson being the new president of the Canucks I looked him up. He played college hockey at Providence with Brian Burke and Ron Wilson.

Granlund looks like he could become a good 2nd line player. So yes every team in the nhl has one of those in their prospect base.
