Except all those teams are also looking at us and thinking the same thing. There's not too many winnable games when you're a bottom 5 team. I wouldn't get your hopes up for 87 points. 80 is a stretch.

New pattern for top teams coming through Alberta - get edged in close game by Flames' hustle and energy on night A, follow up with "swiss cheese" Oilers blowout on night B.

No, I think that's the same kind of helmet the oilers make RNH wear when he's not playing.

I actually really like these lines too...

I think you are right. Similar to the one Hall wears too - but Hall has the full cage on as well to prevent any more of his accidents.

Likely Selanne's final game at the Saddledome.

Stupid Jets, he could have been ours.

Had STs in Wpg in his rookie year - really something special. One of my all time favorite players and a better person than a hockey player.

It will be a sad day for the NHL when Selanne is no longer a part of it.

Many, many thanks to the Finnish Flash and a tip of the hat to one of the greatest players of all time.

Edit: oh, and 8-1 Flames

Bruce Boudreau gave us some really nice props on the TSN Flames / Ducks preview video. Seems to have studied the team; says our rebuild won't be long. Specifically mentioned Wotherspoon and Colborne as being those that have stood out.

He also said we hit a home run earlier in the year by drafting Monahan, he must really like what we're doing over here

Lots of praise from Boudreau for the Flames: http://www.tsn.ca/VideoHub/?collection=72&show=313917

It's starting to worry me hearing so many media and other teams saying nice things about the Flames. How it can be us against the world if the world starts being on our side?

It was so weird watching the end of the Oilers game last night when they just started talking about how good the Flames have been recently while the game was still going on.

Watching that last night, I said to the wife that we have clearly entered a (disturbing) new, parallel universe.

I don't know how to or even if we could embed videos from TSN but if you watch the Ice Chips: Ducks/Flames video Bruce Boudreau had a lot of great things to say about Calgary.

- Talks up Colborne
- Says Calgary is well-coached and works hard
- Wotherspoon has been playing well. D is mobile and good
- Calgary's rebuild is not far away
- Calgary's been playing well the last 30 games, not just the last 7 games

Excited to see how they react to a team who are probably quite well prepared for them after last time, will be super happy with a 1-goal game result or better.

4-3 ducks
