Flames TSN Poll: Which team will make the playoffs first: the Oilers or Flames?

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=447124

It is obvious but I still think we should vote...

Not sure where the .1% went, but the current standings are:

Flames - 70.5%
Coilers - 29.4%

The NHL should start retroactively removing the Oilers' Stanley Cups from the record books. Every 1st overall pick from here on out should signify one less Cup which they have historically won. It's only fair...

It's not a question of if the Oilers will win the Stanley Cup, it's only a question of how many.

The Oilers will make the playoffs, it's simple math.

The greasers wouldn't make the AHL playoffs.

All joking aside, I'm actually pretty confident you're right.

In the article they refer to Monahan as Burke's draft pick.

Whoops.

Love the obvious trolling in the comments from Canuck fans that neither team will make the playoffs again. Both of these teams will be good again before the Canucks will.

Flames will definetly get their first. Oilers are stuck in perpetual rebuild

They will the same time the Maple Laffs wins the Stanley Cup.

Not even close. Flames in 3 years or less. The Oilers may not make the playoffs until 2020 or beyond. It's ironic, since Calgary really only started the rebuilding process in 2013, where Edmonton has been rebuilding since 2007.

I think if Edmonton fires their management team and coach, and replaces them with competent personnel, it wouldn't be TOO far off thinking they can turn it around in 2 years or so - even in the same year depending on how well they do with trades.

Luckily their incompetence is stuck at that level, so we can enjoy another 'x' amount of years of pure failure.

The oilers don't need to make the playoffs, the only race they really care about is a race that they can win (or at least come close) and that's the race for 30th. The oilers are just too good at being bad and it's become their identity. The oil will get 2 if not 3 top 3 picks in the next 5 years. As for making the playoffs, I can't see them making the playoffs until they move.

Guys the Oilers are just a few pieces away from becoming a true contender.

All they need to do is fire and replace their President of Hockey operations, GM, assistant GM, Sr VP, Director of player development, Head pro scout, Head amateur scout, Head coach, associate coach, assistant coaches, goalie coach, athletic therapists, massage therapist, equipment manager, assistant equipment managers, goalies, d-men, and offensive players.

Keep Joey Moss.
