Berra is not a good goalie right now, but he is huge and athletic, which you can't teach. His main problems are positioning and inefficiency of movement, which can be corrected. I don't think there is anyone on earth better at working with big goalies than the fellows they have in Colorado...

Lol again at the money he got.

Lol at what money
Have the terms been released? I'll save my judgement for that. If it's low, they'd look stupid to not sign him after paying the price they did.

I love how the armchair GM's come out and offer their valuable insight into true player values.
Flames signed Ramo to a long-term deal at 2.75 (I think) without him playing a game.
1.45 is a good deal for Berra and the Avs. They obviously are very high on him. Time will tell how well founded that is.

Long term as in one more year?, The only chance they took on Ramo is how long it would take him to get use to the NA game as he was a top G in the KHL for the last few years. Berra was and is a project.

Hmmmmm J.S Giguere traded to the Ducks for a second round pick after flailing in the Flames system. Goes on to win a cup and carve out a stellar career.
Reto Berra, traded to the team Giguere plays for and is likely his replacement, for a second round pick.
3 Cups, and a Vezina or two in his future.... just watch.

Roy is a head coach, not a goalie coach.
Also, if he is so awesome turning projects into superstars, where are the prior iterations?
And by the same logic, when is Gretzky going to finally get around to turning some projects into superstar point producers?

So then everyone is in agreement that he is a bona fide NHL #1 goaltender?
And ok - I thought Ramo was 3 years... but regardless, Flames invested 5.5 on a project that I don't know if they are entirely certain of.but believed in. Avs have invested 4 and change on Berra over 3 years (which I consider long term). I just do not see how this is so shocking or laughable, given the orice they paid to acquire him.

The investment of time and money is perfectly proportional to the price they paid to acquire him, you are correct.
But the price they paid to acquire him was shocking and laughable.
Unless you were sitting there on deadline day wondering whether Berra was going to be flipped for an early pick or extended on a $4+m contract. Because I'm pretty sure nobody in the entire world outside of Denver was envisioning either scenario, much less both.

Berra is making 850K this year while JS is making 1.5. I'm sure the deal is somewhere in between the two but if the deal is signed why hasn't it been made public yet??

Obviously the Avs think he can be a bonafide goaltender in the NHL. I actually thought Reto Berra was doing well. I love his aggressiveness and he uses his big body a lot. He is very quick for his size. Problem I think with Berra that I think can be fixed are his glove hands, giving up a bad goals at the wrong time especially when he is overly aggressive. With Patrick Roy and Allaire helping him, i think we will see a better Berra in the future. I didn't think JS Giguere will have a future when he was playing for Calgary back then and look how it turns out with the proper coaching. Other goalies who struggled turned out to be a good goalie when they plays for a different team.. examples are Mike Smith and even Ilya Bryzgalov in Phoenix.

The thread title is more legit than capgeek??
My question was if the deal has been signed it's odd that it hasn't been updated on the Avs capgeek page. That's all.

CapGeek isn't an official NHL source, so the thread title has as much legitimacy as CapGeek.
The number comes from Adrian Dater ( https://twitter.com/adater/status/444631876385255425), who is a pretty reliable Avs source (and the one who broke the news of the signing in first place). There's really no reason to doubt it.

I realize that capgeek isn't an official NHL source. That being said, the site is usually pretty quick with it's updates.
I'm not questioning the validity of the thread title, or the reported deal itself. More surprised it's taking this long to announce it "officially".
No biggie.
