Bergevin is in Chicago for a family matter (a funeral I read) and he still got this done. He's made a lot of GMs look bad today who accomplished little to nothing.

Helps Montreal with their scoring depth. Vanek actually gets to make the playoffs.
As for Snow, lol.
It must be said the Habs are the big winner today. They got the top player available at the lowest price we've seen the top guy go for in maybe decades. He's going to help them in that Conference.
He says Cammalleri's price tag is a 2nd round pick, B-level prospect, and maybe a roster player (to make the money work)
Stempniak's price tag is a 3rd round pick plus C-level prospect

Powerful, mind-altering drugs.
Dominic Moore gets traded for a 2nd rounder every trade deadline.
Let's use the Way-Back Machine for the last 3 or 4 years, and see what a 2nd rounder and a scrub is worth on deadline day in the *real world*...
Ales Kotalik for a 2nd
Steve Eminger, for a scrub and a 3rd
Nik Antropov for a 2nd and a conditional pick
Clarke MacArthur for a 3rd and 4th
Eric Belanger for a 2nd
Dustin Penner for a scrub, 1st, and a 3rd
Chris Higgins for a scrub and a 3rd
Brad Winchester for a 3rd
Paul Gaustad and a 4th, for a 1st
Johnny Oduya for a 2nd and 3rd
Raffi Tores for a 3rd
Robyn Regehr for two 2nds
Ryan Clowe for a 2nd, 3rd, and conditional 2nd
Jordan Leopold for a 2nd
Doug Murray for a 2nd and conditional 2nd
Not one of those guys is a point-per-game playoff performer that I know of, and there's not one of them that I'd trade straight-up for Mike Cammalleri.
Forget about having to eat a garbage boat-anchor contract to get the privilege of underselling possibly the top player on the deadline market.
I think it is safe to say that Cammalleri would have got even less than Vanek IF he was traded, or possibly around the same.. which still would have been exactly what I said he was worth.
Who is crazy now?!!?!!? BMWUAHAHAHHHA

Not only a 1st round pick... a top 10. In the 3-7 range in 2014, unless they opt for 2015, which could be anywhere from 1-14, but is thought to be a better quality draft.
Massive failure and should absolutely cost him his job.
How can the Islanders not fire Snow over this? No matter how big an Islander supporter you are, how can you pay to see that team when there is no hope?

Cause the owner is a gigantic wang who doesn't seem to care.

I feel like if the Islanders really work at this, eventually the return on the Moulson-Vanek deal will amount to a paper clip.

Misread a text, sorry. Both picks, MTL's 2nd and the #Isles 2015 5th, are conditional. If Habs miss playoffs, no picks change hands.
