Not sure how he is a fit for Spezza's wing.
Does not cover any of Spezza's weaknesses (soft, not good defensively)
Does not complement Spezza's best asset which is playmaking and finishing off the chances he creates.
Likely went with him just because they were able to get him on the cheap.

Oiler fans were convinced that he would fetch a first and a prospect at the beginning of the year.

This strikes me as one of those mistakes Burke said that young GMs make. This return wouldn't have been on the board closer to the deadline? Wait and see if someone will over pay.

I love the disappointment of Oiler fans on that other board. They constantly overrate their players, so this is sweet satisfaction. They all wants 1sts and 2nds; they got table scraps.

Well, I don't doubt Cammy is more valuable and I trust Burke to do a better job, but if this is the type of value players are bringing back, no wonder he's trying to re-sign Cammy.
Burke should try to re-sign Cammy for veteran presence and look to see if some of our better on contract players (Hudler) can't generate better return now or in the off season.
