Congratulations Canada. The tournament proved like others such in the past that overall Canada produces the best hockey players in the world.
That point is 'proven,' now let's stop the lameness of sending NHLers to the Olympics. It just seems wholly out of place. This year, as an American who doesn't care one but about women's hockey I found the girls tourney more compelling, which is so weak.
"Dream Teams. I always found that term ironic because now that we have Dream Teams, we seldom ever get to dream." Herb Brooks, so appropriate after this tourney.

The good news is they can bring essentially the same team back to Korea in 2018 if the NHL players keep coming, Just swap out a few guys for MacKinnon, McDavid, and Monahan. But the majority of the players will still be in their prime in four years time.

Yep, it would be tough in most cases getting silver. Exceptions would be teams that played the Mens USA basketball team for the first few Olympics were thrilled to get to that game and win silver. Over time the pain would wear off and the athletes would realize it's better than bronze.

Not if NHL players don't go back. If this is the last time they play it was a nice way to go out.

@drosennhl Teemu Selanne named tournament MVP, as voted on by media. IIHF Directorate votes Price best goalie, Kessel best forward, Karlsson best D.

Very disappointed. But I doubt we could have won even with our star centres. Canada played perfect last two games. Well deserved gold

Gotta agree, just like I was most happy for Sutter when the Kings won a few years back.
