If they're going to ditch Rome, at least pick up jay mohr sports. The dude needs affiliates, and he's hilarious.

Add to that too much 'local' coverage is what makes sports talk in a city like Calgary unlistenable.

Rome has gone downhill since Travis Rogers left. Too many inside jokes and focus on the clones

Agreed. I can't listen to Hockey Central. Plus the 1:00 - 2:00 slot with Ryan Leslie is some of the worst radio I've ever heard. Once Rome is done at noon, I trun off the Fan whereas I used to listen all day. These changes have ruined it for me.

I really wonder about the road never travelled. When their were rumours about Dan Tencer taking over for Kerr. I was intrigued. Sure, he's an Oilers fanboy, but at least his show is interesting to listen to.

Ryan is at least an interesting foil for Pat; my criticism of him would be that I don't know if he's just taking a side for the sake of being an opposing view, or if he actually believes what he's saying.

This next bit is really nitpicking, I'll admit. But when he broke down the last decades worth of first rounders, he ends with 'same people making the decisions; will they get it right?' Which was idiotic and irritating, but we all say stupid #### from time to time.

As opposed to brynn, who every day made pat remind me why beating up on the ######ed is never as fun as you think it would be.

Anyone listen to today's morning show segment with Rob Ray?
At the start of the segment Warrener was talking about Vietnamese soup and asking how you pronounce 'pho'? The Fan960 guys said 'pho' a few different ways but werent sure of the proper pronounciation. Then Rob Ray chimes in saying its pronounced 'cat'.

Finding 960 is repeating their morning interviews in the afternoon a lot now. Honestly I'm just not sure where they are going as the afternoon show in general is all over the place and not very good overall.

Adding that extra Hokey Central hour has really messed up their product I think, even on a good day they have trouble coming up with enough segments, was definitely a mistake to add another hour. Just go back to Rome or torontos hockey central, they spend half the time just using audio from the Toronto Hockey Central anyways.

It honestly seems like they just frontloaded their guests into the noon hour segment and didn't fill the rest of the afternoon with much more meaningful content.

Overall, they really haven't added anything to their afternoon program and actually took away in some respects.

Time to go back. It isn't working.

I'll also add that Pat seems burnt out by the time the drive home segment comes in. He has been babbling for 4 hours or so, is making frequent mistake, right as their listener count starts to increase.

That doesn't make for good showcasing of your product.

Starting to? This has been happening for years - mispronouncing names, using the wrong names, etc. Maher is a HOFer no question and he's earned every bit of respect and love he has in this city, but he's no longer at the top of his game and it's really not debatable.

So what's going on now? Just when I was getting used to CBS Sports Radio in the evening, they've now switched it to Fan590? The last thing I want to hear is more Toronto-based stuff...

ESPN -> Fox -> CBS -> Fan590 all in the span of a couple years...
