Green text? I have no idea if this is Feb. 7, 2014 or Feb. 14, 2007.

Key fobs that are set to honk the horn grind my gears, why would that function be the factory default ?
I was staying at a large hotel and the constant horn honking night & day started the grind.
I get it if you can't find your vehicle in a parkade it would be handy but do you really need to honk the horn to lock it ?

On some cars the horn going off is the sign that the alarm is activated. I agree though, and I much prefer the cars that have a quieter separate beep for that.

My car locks on the first press of the lock button, and honks on the second. And my wife always likes to hear the honk. Yes, that grinds my gears a little.
Sometimes she'll even say "did you lock the car? I didn't hear the honk." And I'll explain, again, that I heard the locks click, so it is locked.

I just hit the switch on the door most times. My car starter fob doesn't honk when locking.
I just found this gem
Quote:
My car is a 2013 Focus ST and I live in a climate where I occasionally have to brush off and warm up my car. However, unless I leave my Intelligent Access Key in the car while it's running, every time a door is shut the car honks twice. For instance, I climb in, start the car, and climb out. I close the door and the horn honks twice. I open the back door, grab my snow brush, and close the door. Horn honks twice. I scrape and brush it off, open the back door and toss the brush inside. Close door, horn honks twice. There is a tone sounding inside the car when I leave, telling me that I've removed the IAK, and a message on the message display telling me the same. That is plenty for me to be aware that I'm driving the car without the key, the honking horn only wakes my neighbors in the morning. Please, Ford, send an update that disables this ANNOYING feature!

Yesterday, during rush hour a guy decided he needed to do a U-turn (below) right here. He stops because cars are going east. So close to a multiple car pileup of rear ending. No one even honks (but me). Just a selfish a-hole. I hates him.

I saw something similar on Macleod Trail during the evening rush last week at Lake Fraser Gate. A guy was trying to U-Turn from Macleod Trail NB to SB right in that intersection while Macleod Trail had the green light...it was absolutely insane when the average speed through there is around 80 km/h. Lots of horns being honked at him.

My truck was set to honk on locking on the first press. I made the dealer change that before I took the vehicle off of the lot. Such an annoying feature.

Although one time it did result in a spontaneous game with some unknown person across a parkade. Ours honked, then the other person did right after. So we did back, but twice. And they returned back twice. Three times? Sure enough. Then we went into the mall. Good times. /coolstory
Maybe our wives were communicating?

Cats. Our whole house is entirely hardwood, tile, and laminate flooring. The cat finds one tiny little rug to hack up a hairball on. WTF cat.

Re: Idiots finding unbelievable places to flip a u-ey, A couple years ago I watched a guy in a tiny little hatchback slam on his brakes on WB Glenmore, with a semi behind him, to flip a uey at Richard Rd, where there's that break in the median for firetrucks. It blows my mind how stupid some people are. Stupid and selfish. Totally inconsiderate.
Again this morning I deliberately cut off a dinkface driving in the left lane on 22x, while there was a bunch of cars lined up to turn onto 22x from McKevitt. There's just no reason why you can't move over, contrary to some of the people on this board that think it's an outrageous request.
There are two lanes, and you're the only vehicle. If you change lanes, all those cars that are trying to turn can now start turning, but no, you're a f'n dick, and you just keep truckin along, with either no regard, or no awareness. I think I was put on this earth to help raise awareness about crappy drivers. I succeeded in enlightening that guy this morning, judging by the brights that he flashed at me. Eat a dick, pal.

There are settings in my 2013 Journey with the car starter (factory installed) as well as locking. You can have the vehicle honk upon successful start and you can have it honk on successful lock or not. Nice to have the option to turn both on or off. Also love the option with the starter to have it turn the drivers heated seat on and rear defrost. Most after market car starters don't do that. Guess all of this is not really a gear grinder for me...

Assfaces that don't even try and not hit other people's cars when opening their doors in parking lots. I have a giant black paint mark on the driver side door of my car. It's a skid across the door, like they opened their door and hit mine, but then kept pushing it open anyways. How I haven't killed anyone yet is beyond me.

There is nothing worse than having a job with a boss that is a moron, I'm talking so dumb they put employees and themselves in danger financially and physically by being so dumb. Gets even worse when they screw up and get mad at you. I hate people so much sometimes, it's like they would rather get hit in the face than admit they were wrong. That's my real gear grinder, someone who can't admit they're wrong. Nobodie's ever known everything yet some ######bags will turn into a raging maniac before considering maybe they were uninformed and acted too quickly.

What ??
Not all athletes at the Olympics are going to be contenders. We shouldnt belittle the effort of those that make it to the Olympics. They are the top 50 in the world in their sports which is remarkable.

My 2.5 year old was sick last night and the wife was out of town.
I spent most of the night holding her hair as she was being sick in the toilet.
Reminded me of the summer I met her mother.
