Quick Question for the regulars in the thread (or regular lurkers):
Last year with the lockout we had game threads for each game and then the one discussion thread for the team news/stories/media stuff/player discussion. Do we want to go back to that as with games like tonight, we easily have 4-5 pages and start burying some news from earlier in the day?
...I'll even volunteer to do the threads up since I try to post something about the gameday anyway.

since most of the Heat's sked is done in 2 games sets that could work too. only have to do half as many and we don't clutter things up

That's not an awful idea. I like it. It's not like the Back Burner is all that busy in terms of threads anyways. It's pretty much the same four or five threads at the top anyways.
I say go for it.
P.S. Great work on the game updates Drury. Hugely appreciated by everyone, I'm sure.

Have the Heat tried playing Knight at RW? He might be an answer to our lack of RWers with some talent. He certainly looks like he's ready for his cup of coffee and he might just fit on our RW.
PMM/Mike, I heard Sieloff is skating, too. How's he progressing?
Not sure. Haven't been out to a practice this week. Wasn't he still in Calgary doing skates?

Yep, Ward's put him on the right wing and said he wasn't very good.
He's his quote:
Quote:
"He'll be in a top-6 line [role]. He's got to learn to play on the wall too. He's got to add something else to his resume. Playing just centre isn't enough. I played him on the wing and he wasn't very good, so I need to find him some wing time. I want to make sure he's ready to play there a little bit too, otherwise he's a one-trick pony and there's only two slots. If he can play the wall, there's four. Otherwise, there's first or second line centre. If you don't make that, tough sledding. Now, he is smart enough to play third line centre, but he's probably not hard enough in a shift-to-shift basis and a third line centre plays really heavy. He's not a heavy player."
As someone with basically no ability to follow the Heat, I like the idea of a separate thread for each game or set of back-to-back games. When looking for news and updates on the Heat, it can sometimes be a little tough to go back through the game talk, especially if I miss a back-to-back situation. Even a 'Heat Talk' and separate but on-going 'Heat game talk' thread would be nice. Big thumbs up for all the updates and analysis!

There is no reason not to start a new thread for every game Drury. Go for it Will help remind us of when the Heat play - I know a few times I lost track and ended up seeing I missed the game completely. Thanks for all the updates and all your work on game days!!

Love the re-direct from Knight. I remember being very impressed with his hand/eye coordination in the pre-season too. I'm sure that's a big part of why he was so good in the dot. Could end up being a great net-front presence on the powerplay for the big club some day. Big enough to block out a little daylight for the goalie and can get a stick on the puck for re-directs.
