I'm sorry but which Glencross works hard? Is there another one?
This season... saying Glencross works hard is like saying the Flames logo is blue. Old Glencross worked hard. This year's Glencross is having a tough go and too many nights his feet aren't moving enough. He looks like he's going through the motions and not REALLY trying.
And I actually don't think we do need him around. He isn't as physical as he used to be either. Remember when he used to bang around and fight and such?

I get a kick out of how we all seem to know what players work hard, who is a cancer in the room and what players are good with the rookies.

People mis-remember how hard Glencross worked when he first came here. He was always a bit of a floater. He just played on a line with Moss and Conroy, two guys that always moved the puck to the other teams zone. That line was awesome together
But Glencross was in the coaches doghouse at various points in pretty much every season in Calgary for his inconsistent efforts

This is a good reason to trade him.

If Glencross is open to a trade, I think he'll be gone. He's not a terrible player, he's on a good contract with term left, he'd be an amazing 3rd line player on a contender that can step up if need be, he's great on the PK (when motivated) and could use a change of scenery. I'd love to see him go to a contender for a good return.

Keep in mind that some people want us to become the Oilers and lose for a decade so we can stockpile 1st overall picks. Consummate pros and great veterans are counter to that goal.

Also, remember that some people want to keep all the players that we have and ice the same roster because a few years ago we almost made it and if we could just squeak into 8th, anything can happen! This is probably our year...if not maybe next year!

Whoa, you can tell who is a cancer in the room and what players are good with the rookies just by watching them?
Can you tell who's playing sick or with undisclosed injuries too?

So umm...
I have no idea where this thread is going, but am I correct in assuming that Blair Jones cleared (not that I really expected otherwise)?

To be fair of those three the only one we could actually determine (and even then only in part) by watching is "works hard"... and even that's subjective to the opinion of the viewer determination of what constitutes working hard.

Hmm wonder if he was traded or in limbo with a deal.

I completely agree. In terms of intangibles--leadership, work ethic, personality etc.--we know very little about the players. Look at the Stajan signing and Burke's comments about his character and other intangible qualities. None (few) of us new these things about his value to the team.

Ive never once thought of Stajan as a floater.
Glenx on the other hand reminds me of Rene Bourke v 2.0
Matt still competes when hes not scoring whereas Curtis just floats more..pouts and takes dumb penalties.

Personally I think we should trade Curtis to the Bruins.
I understand the no move clause, but he would be going to a legitimate contender to represent the Eastern Conference in the Finals. Iggy is there for the familiarity, camaraderie, and the Bruins love the type of player that Curtis used to be. On top of this, Curtis has a cap friendly contract.
In return, Calgary should get the Bruins first rounder in 2014 and either a RW or Dman prospect.
Get it done Burkie...

Who is Glencross better than on the bruins roster? No way they make a deal for him.

For depth in the strech and playoff run. Caron, Thornton, Campbell, Smith.
If Glencross is healthy and motivated he can score and add to Boston's playoff run.
