During dinner, I noticed that a friend of mine was wearing a fitbit and commented on it.
He started telling me that he really likes it but before he could go on, his wife interjected and said that it's a total dude magnet as guys notice it and strike up conversations with him.
/no usable information on it's actual use or capability

We are looking into reports from a very limited number of Fitbit Force users who have been experiencing skin irritation, possibly as a result of an allergy to nickel, an element of surgical-grade stainless steel used in the device.
We suggest that consumers experiencing any irritation discontinue using the product and contact Fitbit at force@fitbit.com if they have additional questions. Customers may also contact Fitbit for an immediate refund or replacement with a different Fitbit product.
We are sorry that even a few consumers have experienced these problems and assure you that we are looking at ways to modify the product so that anyone can wear the Fitbit Force comfortably. We will continue to update our customers with the latest information.

I have been using the Nike FuelBand for about six months. Love it. FuelBand, FitBit, or whatever 'wearable motion tracker'...they are all basically the same.

Not really "what you wear" but it fits in here.
Motorcycle made of watch parts.

I didn't know people still wore watches.
My iPhone replaced mine years ago.

For some of guys, watches are to us like shoes are to women.
Do you really need a watch? No. But there is just something about an expertly crafted, high quality little machine ticking away on your wrist that makes them incredibly cool. I own 45 of them at current count. Nothing crazy expensive, but all sorts of cool designs. Light powered, some powered by a little kinetic generator, digitals, and some old school divers auto's.... and every one of them, fascinates me.

45 watches!? What is the estimated value of all of them?

I was just looking at this the other day, and going by the retail value of all of them for my home contents insurance, it is just over $20,000. I didn't pay anything near that though, maybe $10k over the last few years. Most the stuff I buy is worth $5-800, but with ebay and Amazon, you can pick them up usually for around 50-60% off. But if you were buying them at regular jewelers, it would be around $20-22000. I know a couple guys that have one piece worth that kind of dough.
I don't have any Breitling's, Rolex's or Omegas or anything like that though. I have a very weird obsession with obscure Seiko and Citizen Japanese market dive watches, which account for about 20 of the watches in my collection.

I think I'd rather have two $5k watches or five $2k watches than 45 watches worth $10k.
Not a knock on you - collecting is fun and I definitely can't point fingers when it comes to frivolous clothing expenses. Just a different philosophy I guess.

Neat. Like what? I don't know anything about them, other than they are cool looking.

You wear your iPhone on your wrist?
I don't know why people keep coming into this thread and posting this. They stopped wearing a watch and are surprised that everyone else doesn't do the same thing as them.
I didn't know people still wore hats.
My sunglasses replaced mine years ago.

I know, and I don't neccesarily diagree with you. In the next couple years, I will pull the trigger on my dream watch Seamaster XL Chrono, maybe as a 40th b-day gift to me, from me. I am just really scared to jump into this territory, as I know it could get real expensive, real fast, once one $5000 watch isn't enough.
However the gap in a $5000 Omega, and a $900 Seiko Diver, isn't worth 4.5 times the price. About half of it, is cache IMO.

You actually didn't know?
You failed to notice that thing strapped around the wrist of almost everyone?
Dumb comment.

I love Orange on watches for some reason.
I have a Seiko Orange monster that I love wearing in the summers. I'd wear it in the winter but it's too bulky for all the long sleeve shirts/jackets/sweaters.
I still find Seikos the best value for what they are. Decent looking and serviceable mechanical watch.
I targeted 2-3 watches in that expensive price category. I hope I can get the 2nd one when I retire or when my future kids win the gene pool lottery and get multi-million contracts in a sport.

I bought myself an Omega as a 30th b-day gift to myself, and it was the best present I've ever gotten. Highly recommended.
It's nice having one really high-quality watch. At first I thought it might spoil me and I'd want more...but I am totally satisfied with it. If it's the only watch I have for the rest of my life, then that is absolutely fine with me. Not to say that there aren't 15 other watches I buy if I hit the jackpot.
Just make sure you really really like orange if that's your big-money watch.
