The street sweeper gets most of them every year. With that ash tray picture, who knows how many ended up there because it's shallow enough that the wind can blow them out.

It does look like the ones on the ground are old. However there is really no excuse for people to not dispose of their burning garbage correctly.

Regardless of if they're being blown out by the wind, I have seen many smokers just chuck their butts out on the ground right beside garbages and such. It drives me up the wall, as a smoker myself.

It's like that all the time. It's 4 times worse in the spring.
The area is fairly sheltered and not much wind gets to it.
I was prompted to take a picture just after a person left and threw their cigarette on the ground instead of walking 5 feet to the ashtray.

We sent our kid to daycare today in Bubble Guppies PJ's because she refused to wear real clothes - this was a concession, she really wanted to wear her fleece footie cupcake pj's that she'd worn to bed. I somewhat blame the tantrum her crappy sleep last night, but the terrible 2's likely had a part in it.
I've heard the 3's are worse. God help us all.

In my experience, 2 was a cakewalk compared to 3. You get the screaming AND the attitude.

Should have picked up that discarded cigarette and walked up to the person and said "You dropped this!" then stuff it down the back of their jacket

As the snow melts it becomes even more apparent what scum bags some (most) smokers are when it comes to littering. Some of them will argue till they're red in the face that what they're doing isn't littering either.

I'm still trying to figure out how we end up with a couple of dozen cigarette butts in our front yard, just in front of the bedding plants, every spring. There are none there before the snow flies, but once the snow melts? No one in our house smokes, and we haven't had any visiting smokers here, who might have dropped them, in several years. I can only presume they're blown there from somewhere else.

Fortunately, this only takes about 10 seconds due to their severely diminished lung capacity.

On the topic of littering, the people who leave crap in shopping carts or worse the people who just pull it all out when they get the shopping cart and toss it into the next cart, instead on in the garbage bin.

The "Thanks" button.
I originally didn't like it because it seems to encourage everyone to try and be a comedian, really adding nothing to the discussion. That and all the useless non-hockey related animated GIFs that plague PGTs.
Reading the Brian Burke UofC thread has me liking it, but it GMGs that people don't seem to use it. It seems like over 1/3 of the posts are people just posting "Great read. Thanks!" If you have nothing to add to the discussion, click thanks and move on.
