No C-Train service tomorrow morning at Crowfoot Station (Jan 15.)

Calgary Transit and Enmax crews were called out to the Crowfoot LRT Station on Tuesday afternoon for an electrical issue and transit says CTrain service between Crowfoot and Dalhousie Station will not be available on Wednesday morning.

Calgary Transit and Enmax crews are continuing to make repairs to a power line at Crowfoot Station. Due to the nature of wire damage, CTrain service between Dalhousie and Crowfoot stations will be suspended throughout the evening of Tuesday, January 14, and all day Wednesday, January 15.

Shuttle buses are providing service to both Crowfoot and Dalhousie bus loops.
Routes 37/137, 43/143 and 76 also provide service between these stations.
Customers are advised to start their trip from Dalhousie or any alternate station if possible.

Was wondering what was going on around there when I was driving back from work tonight. Somewhat fortunate that it's the last station on that leg of the C-train.

Shuttle service between Crowfoot and Dalhousie was pretty smooth this morning at 6:15am. Hopefully that lasts into the rush

Some of the LRVs are getting old and unreliable, but the electrical/catenary has undergone recent replacement and upgrades for the most part.

Aside from that, I'm sure it's partly social media, but a big part of it is that problems have much more effect and wider reach for more people due to higher ridership. With trains being much more frequent, this means that problems have a much larger and quicker cascading effect down the line and it takes longer to recover from breakdowns and service disruptions.

Some I'd the older LRVs (about a third of the oldest generation U2 model) well be replaced by an order of the newest mode which will begin to arrive in 2015.

Reliability took a giant nosedive after 2009. U2s are a part of that, but I've heard that ~40% of the breakdowns are newer trains.

Ive been taking transit every day since september (bus and train) and i kid you not every second day if not more i am affected by some kind of delay or problem. We have a 3rd world transportation system in this city. Its embarrassing

They're hoping for Monday.

The site says its closed today and Sat-Sun, but makes no mention of Thu-Fri. So I'm confused if the basics are in place for service before finishing work happens on the weekend, or if there is no train service at all until Monday.

Yeah, it's a bit confusing. Think I got it figured out.

They're going to have a train running between Crowfoot and Dalhousie tomorrow and Friday on the tracks that aren't effected. This train will only be going between this two stations. You'll have to transfer to the regular train at Dalhousie. Then on the weekend they'll shut Crowfoot down again and go with shuttles, hopefully fixing the entire issue then.

So hopefully everything back to normal Monday.
