Yup, at least they showed they can play against them. Good effort. Clearly not a push over.

In addition to the free-throw shooting, two other reasons the Raptors lost: 15 offensive rebounds for the Heat (the worst rebounding team in the league), and going 1-11 on shots outside the paint in the fourth quarter. Casey needed to find a way to get his starters more rest, because they were completely gassed down the stretch, inexcusable against a team playing the second night of a back-to-back.

Not to mention DD doing his Gay impression in the fourth quarter. Ridiculous how he went into hero mode and botched shot after shot after shot. IF they really want to take a run instead of rebuilding correctly then he should be one MU is looking to trade. Volume shooter who plays no defense.

If he could package him for a legit wing player they could win a round or two. Lowry is so atypical Raptors ain't he. Contract year and away he goes. So then they will bid against themselves like BC always did and give him some ridiculous contract. Then Fat oft injured Lowry will reappear. Casey will get the contract just like Sammy boy did after his COY.

Nothing changes in Raptorland.

So you think DeRozan sucks, but could be traded for a legit player? Being a GM sounds easy.

Terrible so far today, down 15 right now in the 3rd.

Late run but ran out of time. Lose by 7.

Lost to Heat and Pacers by combined 12, these loses for expected, glad they kept it close (especially in the Heat game). Today's loss was on starting bigs, Jonas and Amir were bad throughout the game.

Really need another scorer.

The Pistons have to be the crappiest team I've watched all year. Their record wouldn't say they were though it's nothing special but man they suck. Dumb, selfish, lazy and zero motivation. Was a intensely boring game to watch as the refs were whistle happy as well.

So is this an 06 repeat or are they actually improving?

Just playing weak competition. Sure they've kept it close with MIA and IND but they won't sustain that effort in a 7 game series.

You realize that thus far they've played the toughest schedule of any team in the eastern conference, and fourth-toughest in the entire NBA (only Memphis, Utah, and Sacramento have had tougher schedule)? Lots of reason to question whether their success is sustainable, but weak competition isn't it.

On the subject of schedule, they play just 12 games against teams currently with winning records through the rest of the year, only three of those on the road. They'll play 3 more home games than road games. They leave their home timezone only three more times all season. Things are definitely aligned for them to play well above .500 the rest of the way.

Its nice to see the Raptors aren't just beating, but crushing teams they are supposed to. The key to this turnaround is cleary the defense, the offense is playing nice but they are playing at a top 3 level of defense since dumping Rudy.

DeRozan is becoming quite a good player. His shot selection, passing, shooting etc are making him very efficient on the offensive end. Hard not to be happy with his progression.

Yeah that is nice but doesn't have anything to do with them beating the Pacers or Heat in a 7 game series. The Raptors should get past the 1st round though...

No, it was an answer to your "playing weak competition" and a good one to say the least.

As someone else said above, it's good to see them destroying the weaker teams and keeping it close/beating the top teams.

Patrick Patterson deserves recognition, he's been outstanding. If he keeps it up, he could contend for 6th man of the year award.

Actually not the case. He has shot worse since the Gay trade. He is far from efficient. That is what is holding him back from moving from a borderline allstar to an actual one. What has progressed is he was pathetic on the defensive end. Now he is just weak. His rebounding and passing have picked up. He is scoring when they need a basket so his clutch play is up as well.

But efficient? Nope he surely is not.

Lowry has to be an all-star.
