Just curious if anyone was able to get tickets today. I heard they were mostly sold out prior to coming on sale today.

Me and about 10 buddies all picked up a GA shuttle pass combo for weekend 2.

So unbelievably excited.

I managed to get two more passes for Weekend 1. We are up to 20 of us headed down from Calgary!

By the time I got through for Weekend 1, all that was left were the Lake Eldorado packages. While that would be nice if I had a couple grand extra... no dice. Did manage to get tickets for Weekend 2 though, can't wait! Looks like its going to be a wicked lineup.

Tried to get weekend 1 tickets, but those sold out in like 2 seconds. Got some weekend 2 passes though. This is my first Coachella show and I'm super pumped!! What can a newbie like me expect?

Expect to have an awesome time. Some tips:

- if you have a big group bring walkie talkies, there's little to no cell reception.
- sneaking alcohol in the grounds is tricky
- If you want to be close to the stage for any set get there very early
- get a locker!
- if you're taking the shuttles, expect it to take 1.5 hours door to venue. There a long lines everywhere including getting in the venue
- bring hand sanitizer, the porta potties are disgusting
- it's hot during the day and cools at night so dress appropriately.
- on the topic of heat, you should occasionally hydrate with something other than beer
- expect to wait a long time for a shuttle after the show
- there's decent food and something for everyone

That's all I've got right now....

Nice man, thanks. I've been to many festivals all over the world but I was told that Coachella just has a different vibe to it then any other. Glad to hear, it should be a rippin' good time!

How many stages are there? I think I heard something like 7. Is it split up by genre or just kind of random?

All the stages are kind of random, except for Sahara, Yuma and Do Lab which are all electronic. Sahara is usually the mainstream stuff, DJs that will draw all the huge crowds. Yuma is for more underground stuff, it's a closed tent with air conditioning so it's nice to go in there to escape the heat during the day. But there can also be massive lines to get into Yuma, last year I wanted to see Four Tet and Jamie xx, but the lines were ridiculously long, so if there's someone playing in there that you really wanna see you should get there early. And Do Lab is mostly local artists and it's a ton of fun. There's people on stage with water cannons spraying people all day long, so it's another place you can go to cool off a bit and dance to some crazy tunes.

Everyone lines up for the porta potties, but if you walk past them in the back there are big white trailer looking things that everyone ignores. These are actually air conditioned restrooms with running water and paper towels.

Also you should be able to google a few days in advance the password for the Red Bull Saloon. It seems to always get leaked (I'm sure on purpose). It's in the beer gardens next to the smaller main stage and is a air conditioned pub. Can be pretty busy in there during the heat of the day.

You know when I was at Download last year I saw a common theme for sneaking booze in: Wine boxes. Not the box itself mind you, but take the bag out of the box, sneak it in your underoos and you're good. I saw many people with this approach. Of course the slight downside is you have to drink boxed wine, but still beats $8 a beer.

When I went to Coachella we just put our booze in a platypus bag and stuffed it at the bottom of the pack. They didn't really search that hard, it was more of a "open your bag, nothing on the top? ok you're good to go"

I am very aware of those secret rooms at the back that are best kept a secret

Thanks for the tip on the red bull saloon - I had no idea.

Well if you miss OutKast at Coachella or just don't want to go, thats ok. You'll have forty more chances to see them.

Quote:
Ingenious and iconic recording artists and performers, Antwan “Big Boi” Patton and André "3000" Benjamin today announced via Outkast’s social media platforms that their return to the stage celebrating their 20th anniversary will include festival dates around the world. After headlining performances at Coachella in April, the influential group will be the marquee act at over 40 festivals around the world throughout the Spring/Summer of 2014 (dates to be announced).

“It's truly an honor to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose,” said Big Boi. “Don't just think outside the box, know that there is no box. I'm looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans - stank you smelly much, this is for y'all!”

"And imagine, all we wanted to do was rap! I am thankful to have been a part of a group that allowed me to explore anything that came to mind and have fun doing it. Returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting Outkast,” said André 3000

We get to see them first!

Firefly in Delaware annouced them today. Governor's Ball in NY sounds like it's happening.

I bet they will be doing Osheaga and Pemberton in Canada.
