Im disappointed with St. Louis and Giordano not being on the team, but I am equally surprised that Lowe didn't "brewer" a couple of his core onto the team.

You have to be a homer to think it was a big issue.
I think they were about even so a coin flip as to who goes. Throw in Hamhuis having more experience playing for Team Canada and his performance last year at the WHC and he gets the slight edge.
I have no problem if people think Gio should be there over Hamhuis but it isn't some big deal or a bad call.

Bouwmeester has been outstanding since joining the Blues; he has been as good or better than Pietrangelo

I don't think he has as I have been following him as I have him in a few key pools. AV has been limiting his ice time as he has been getting 14 minutes some nights and he's way below a point a game.

Bouwmeester is the worst player to make this team.
And I am not even kidding.
Bouwmeester is below average defensively against NHL teams, let alone Olympic teams. He does not have a good defensive IQ.
He natural skating and reach has (sorta) helped bail him out over his career. He will be eaten alive in this tournament.
I seriously hope he is the 7th D. At least Nash and Marleau have won at the international level (and they probably won't dress anyways)
Bouwmeester playing real minutes for this team should terrify everyone in Canada!

I understand Hamhuis - he is one of the best first-pass dmen in the league and a very good skater.
I hate the Nash pick, but whatever.

I agree but that doesn't it make it the exact opposite of a homer pick? Homer generally means that you only think they should be there because theyre on your favorite team. Gio very well could have been on the team on his own merit, which we seem to agree on.

St-Louis Blues are claiming that the Bouwmeester trade is one of the best the franchise has ever made, yet a couple posters here still can't get past the blind hatred.
Giroux and even Seguin could have made the team over a couple of their selections IMO. Seguin and Benn have unreal chemistry.

I would have taken St Louis over Kunitz, Carter, or Nash. Giroux as well.
Otherwise that's a pretty solid team
