I hate the Oilers and Smyth but back in his young days in the NHL, the guy is not afraid of standing in front of net redirecting the puck. Most of his goals in his careers are coming from standing in front deflections and some garbage goals. So yeah it is not stretch on Roger Millions part that Smyth is fearless in front the net. I wish our big guys like David Jones, Galliardi play the same way as Smyth back in his days.

Yes, but when "best ever" is thrown around I sort of think more of Tomas Holmstrom where I'm sure he's got a permanent stick mark across his back from standing in front of the net.

And I agree. We need someone who isn't afraid to take up camp in front of a goalie and pay the price to redirect the shots in. It's a dirty job, but if you learn to do it, you become almost irreplaceable on the team.
