It's the right things to do. the wave of confidence on that team right now is at an all time high. get Sven in there to absorb it. Would hope to see one of Hanowski or Ferland get the call up.

Should have happened sooner. Sven needs time to develop. I don't think he is going to be traded, but he needs to go down and start showing some of the offence he displayed in junior. He will be on a good team in a weaker league. He has all the opportunities to get his game back on track.

Best for his development. Let him get stronger and come back up next fall. He seemed to be working hard but just got pushed around too easily.

With Burkes comments today I think that guys like Hanowski and Ferland will maybe get a look as both are bigger and seem harder to play against yet still have an offensive side to their game.

Much like Kadri in his career, I have no issue with this

Echoing everyone in here but this is the best thing for his development at this point. Hopefully he can play a lot of minutes in all situations. I really hope Sven takes the right attitude to this situation and develops into the player we all think he can be.

You learn from your mistakes, but sometimes when there is too much pressure to not make mistakes it hampers your ability to learn. Going down to the AHL will help Sven. Let him learn all three zones where the pace is easier to learn these things, and let him learn/re-learn how to be dominant with the puck again.

Sad to see him have to go back down to the AHL, but if he needs it, then let it happen.

This is for the best right now, I guess.

The Heat are going to be even better now.

The Heat are already the best team in the AHL...at least he isn't going from a loser to a loser. He makes that team even more offensive, and he will get a chance to work on a few aspects of his game. Many have questioned his compete or ability to win battles, which from my personal viewings seems extremely overstated, but I for one hope he gets back to shooting the puck much more often. Can't waste that shot.

This is going to wreck him for a bit mentally, though.

But it's probably for the best. He needs the rest of the season to get his footing offensively again, while working on that defensive game under the guidance of Ward.

About a month too late, glad he's going down now though. He needs to get his mojo back big time, and playing with the Heat is just the thing to do it. The Heat are flying right now and he's going to fit in with that group so well. Everything you hear about them is how great the locker room is, will be perfect to get Sven's confidence as a player back.

He's going to come back to the Flames 10x the player he left I bet.

How Sven takes this will determine if he remains a Flame or not.

If he has a good attitude about it and plays hard, I think we see him again post deadline. If not, he'll be packaged with someone in a trade.

Not surprised. Based on his play it is not really a bad thing for his development.

Nope. Simply means that Byron sticks around now that Galiardi is back.

Agree, success later on will wash away all the mental BS.

He's been wrecked mentally for most of the year. This is the reset button he desperately needed.

Best thing for Sven, I bet Glenny is back tonight and this gave Hartley the opportunity get Sven back down to the Ahl.

I doubt there's any callups, probably just making room for players coming back from injury.

Hopefully Sven doesn't get bummed out and tears the AHL up.
