I may be wrong, but Babchuk's contract was only two years? And both Sarich and Tanguay were traded?

Best defenseman on the worst defensive team in the NHL doesn't say much. There are significant holes in his game and they certainly were very present last year.
Babchuk - your point? It was an awful contract.
Sarich and Tanguay were traded... for another toxic contract in Jones.

Dreger pushing Nieuwendyk hard. Not sure I'd be a fan of that.

Unrelated.
Talking about frustration with that aspect.

I don't think Cammalleri is going to re-sign with the Flames anyway.

I suspect Butler will be gone soon

Flames have to spend some serious cash for next year, did you really want Feaster to handle it

Nieuwendyk makes no sense based on what Burke JUST SAID.
He said he's going to prioritize a guy who's good at drafting and scouting. That isn't Nieuwendyk. Lets just all take a deep breath.

OK.... But I think we've all clearly missed my point. I'm not defending Feaster. I just don't like that Burke alluded to Toronto's situation being more difficult than Calgary's - when they were very similar a few years ago. It seemed that Burke blamed Feaster for a slow rebuild - when we only started the rebuild late last year.

Kind of scary especially when you look at the James Neal trade.

Wow.
Can't say I remotely care about Feaster leaving. I really liked Weisbrod, but I don't think he's irreplaceable.
Interested to see the changes. Hartley was Feaster's boy, so I can not IMAGINE he stays the rest of the season. I would be shocked.

Specifically said that veterans in final year of contract can help accelerate the rebuilding process.
So you trade your assets for assets, and acquire others through free agency which cost you nothing

Again - I'm not trying to defend Feaster. As I've said in my posts (that were selectively quoted and subsequently taken out of context) I just think Burke ignored the fact that Feaster took over a terrible sinking ship and made some great changes to get us to where we are now.
But really - it doesn't matter. The conversation has moved on. I'll just let it drop.

Unpopular CP opinion: That trade was pure #### for us. So what if Tangs was a cancer and Sarich wanted out. You try to get the most for any player and Tangs with his skill set is worth more than Jones. Horrible for us.
