Country star Garth Brooks sat down with the TV anchor during “Good Morning America” on Monday, and he took the opportunity to announce his upcoming world tour.
Quote:
“You know what, since it’s you and since we’ve had a history forever, let’s announce it. We’re going on a world tour in 2014,” Brooks told Roberts.
Tour dates have yet to be released.
I'm excited to see where he plays. I couldn't get tickets during his last tour (he played Halifax when I was in grade 9). This time things will be different.

Saddledome not suitable for rigging/stage. He plays Edmonton instead during Stampede week 2014.

Ex-wife was a big country fan, saw Garth twice live during the 90s. He put on a helluva show. I imagine a 2014 show will be different, but fans will love it all the same.
Let's see if he holds true to his word. If there's anyone in the music industry that would, it would be Garth Brooks.
After the scalping nightmare of his one off show at the 100th Stampede he said Calgary will definitely be on the tour when he decides to tour again, and that he would schedule more than one show, to alleviate the scalping opportunity.
Also, he's done that in the past, playing many nights in the same city when the demand has been there. I'm willing to bet we see more than one Calgary show.

I could see him have mostly outdoor venues for this reason. (I realize that the Stampede was an outdoor venue, but the website says it seats only 17,000).
For example: Magnetic Hill in Moncton can handle 80,000+ that should cover the Maritimes better than 3 or 4 shows at the Halifax Metro Centre which is what he did last time.
Or McMahon in lieu of the Saddledome; BC Place over Rogers Arena; Rogers Stadium over ACC; The Big O over Bell Centre; etc.
I'd say he will make use of football stadiums and ballparks to maximize the amount of people that he can play to in one night.

The Following User Says Thank You to Maritime Q-Scout For This Useful Post:
Was not a fan of his show in Vegas and find him a little bit qwerky and over the top at times but when it comes to country music....Garth is as good as it gets. I was one of several who missed out on the Stampede show and guarantee that won't be happening when he is sure to come to Calgary on this tour.

Scalpers are psyched for another go at this. For Pearl Jam this time 1 out of 7 tickets available (2,000) were up on Stubhub within a day of going on sale. Garth would probably be the same as last time. I hope soon enough they go with a better system but I suspect everyone makes too much money from the current system for anything to change. Fans lose in the end.

He played at the Saddledome for Stampede, not outdoors. They did however have a stripped down stage that allowed them to sell tickets behind the stage. I believe the attendance was close to 16000.
I watched Garth's live show from Vegas last week and he seemed either a)tripping balls or b)completely insane. So yeah, I definitely want to catch this in town.

Normally Garth likes to do elaborate stadium concerts on his full tours so I would guess that is what will happen. If he is coming back he is going to do it with a bang and that means huge outdoor stadium concert shenanigans!
