Denied as well. I also ordered a pair of shoes, but I see they applied all of the discounts to the jacket. So basically paid full price on shoes on black Friday, plus shopping, and have to drive to the airport to pick then up. Good job self.

I guy I know that used to work at Staples, said they had to specifically change their price matching policy because of all the RFD shenanigans. People were cleaning them out of thousands of dollars of merchandise they were getting for free, because of the policy. I remember a couple deals in particular, where people were getting label makers, and another where they were getting computer speakers, for free, and then posting pictures of their haul on RFD. There was also another incident where someone somehow hacked Staples database, and was posting stolen gift card codes that could be used online. People were outright knowingly stealing from Staples with zero conscious. To add insult to injury, they were making sure to stack the codes properly, to qualify for free delivery, of stolen goods. I like RFD to find the odd deal, but the site is frequented by some really scummy people.

There is a huge difference here between legitimate theft and using promo codes that the website accepts. Mark's website accepts the promo codes, if they didn't want you to be able to stack the codes they should have disabled it, many websites do this so that is Mark's issue. The "signup" code you refer to is you sign up for email newsletters and Mark's themselves send you the code, it's not some special code no one is supposed to know about. The other 2 promo codes were freely available all over the place with a quick Google search.
The only real issue is Mark's crappy inventory system, most of the time you hear about popular sale items selling out in a short time. Instead, they took hundreds (thousands?) of orders that they didn't have stock for.

I don't know if I can agree with "gaming the system" I don't think anyone really did anything "out of bounds" as far as getting the price down. Nobody did anything wrong, people used codes and discounts that were provided to them by Marks and just so happened they could stack up and reduce the price.
I'm happy to hear a lot of people managed to get jackets, I'm sad I didn't get either of the 2 I ordered however I was hoping to get one. I don't understand how you could set up a deal like this and not have the inventory to back it up, or at least offer the jacket at another time or comparable one at the same price.

or have an online commerce system that is tied to your inventory system that will say, sold out, or item unavailable or something like that, when they run out of stock of that item.
heads should roll for this

Just called customer service and got told my other jacket should be getting delivered today. So I got two.
She said over 5000 orders and they only had 1200. It was basically if the store nearest toy your shipping address had it. I ordered mine to Red Deer so got lucky.

What number did you call? The number they gave in the email was their corporate number, and I get cut off when I select to speak to somebody.

1-800-663-6275 thats the corporate number, call and ask for customer service. Might be a long wait but you will get connected to someone. They can look up your order then.

I don't necessarily agree. If you are submitting multiple single orders using a sign up code you are only supposed to use once, by using multiple email addresses, you are not working within the spirit of the deal. You are just another scum sucking RFD hoarder with a basement full of outdated WIFI routers, Zune MP3 players and Marks parkas. Just because the system can be abused, doesn't mean it should be. I felt 50 bucks plus shipping was more than a fair deal, and would feel like a major cheap ass trying to screw Marks out of another 20 bucks, on an already amazing deal.
Amazon has it right with lightning deals and deals of the week. It only lets one item be delivered to one address on one credit card. They pretty much neutered the deal site and RFD losers from ruining these deals for everyone.

Got my rejection email this morning.. not overly upset as I bought it for a gift for a bro in law who is kind of a name brand whore so I am not sure how he would have received this.
The other items I bought and used the codes on are being honoured at the promotion price, shipping is waived, and they gave me a $25 gift card. Can't really argue with that.

Well now you're changing the argument from using 3 coupon codes on one order to using multiple emails to order "a basement full of parkas", but sure I'll bite.
First, they are discounting an item 80%, so discounting another 8% of the list price using coupon codes is hardly going to break them. The whole idea of Black Friday sales is to get you to order the extra stuff, they have already accepted a break even or a loss on certain items with the hope you buy additional merchandise.
Secondly, if Mark's system allows you to place 50 orders with different email address all to the same mailing address then they are asking to be scammed. It doesn't make it right, I wouldn't do it, but it's going to happen. I don't leave my keys in the ignition for this reason, it's wrong to steal a car and I wouldn't do it, but I know some loser will without a second thought.
To be honest I agree with you, people shouldn't be scammers and place a bunch of orders with different email addresses. But to say that we're all some kind of scum for placing my one order of a jacket and a couple of $20 shirts, and getting an additional 8% off using coupon codes that Mark's openly puts out there is ridiculous.
And it seems I've gotten involved in a argument I don't really care that much about... I still haven't received an email one way or the other and honestly if I don't get my $200 off jacket I'm not going to be fuming mad. I have other coats, it isn't that big of a deal. It's just frustrating for me, and others, that in this day and age of online shopping that a big company like Mark's can have a huge online sale without proper inventory management.

Are you sure about the shipping? My email doesn't mention it at all.
As for the "abuse" of the codes. I really think they knew what they were doing by putting in codes that required a $50 purchase, and then pricing a clearance item at $49.99
I have also used multiple discounts in store. Shirts on sale, then their random 20% off evenings, then $10 off a $50 purchase. (Forcing me to buy 2 shirts instead of one.)

Same here. I actually wanted the filler items I added to the jacket and would've paid full price for them, so getting a shirt, a pair of pants, and a $25 savings code for $30 including tax and shipping sounds good to me.

I've got confirmations about the filler items I ordered (which I don't mind having IF I don't need to pay shipping), but the jacket is neither confrimed or denied.

I also got rejected. Damn.
If any of you who picked up two decide you don't have use for one, I would be interested in buying a small or perhaps medium off you as opposed to you returning it.

I am not pointing the finger at you specifically, just reading through the thread at RFD, there was a lot of losers kinking an already great deal. BTW, the jacket fits like a POS, and I will be getting rid of mine. I can see why they are blowing it out, it is designed for pear shaped people.
