Ewww, too roundy. Looks like it mated with a Porsche. While not a bad thing, it doesn't fit here.
I liked their last reinvention, a throwback to the muscle car styling.

Muscle cars should have defined corners, not rounded. The front of that looks like one of the new Dodge Darts

The part where the front headlamp / hood is rounded looks very reminiscent of the 2000-2004 Mustang that the first retro styled 'Stang replaced.
I'm undecided. Roofline is decidedly the love-child of a Porsche 911 and a 370z.

Beautiful car, but I'm unsure if it's a Mustang. The 2010-13 variant was an almost perfect blend of retro styling with modern cues. That being said, I'm sure this will sell well, as they usually seem to.
Ford moving to 3-year refreshes was smart business. Their lineup looks great.

the back isnt bad...has a aggressive look but the front is way too soft for my liking. The headlights are the only thing somewhat bearable with the front end. Would prefer to see a more squared off grill.

Since when does the seating suck? I'm 6'3" and fit very comfortably in Mustangs. I've had two. The back seat isn't exactly roomy, but show me a two-door sports car with something better. My kids can sit behind me and mine is even a convertible, which has less room than a coupe.

I like the front end and I think the side profile is awesome (but I love 370Zs and the roofline kind of looks like that), but the ass end I can't quite wrap my head around. Too many horizontal layers, perhaps? I'm looking forward to some interior shots and there isn't going to be a solid rear axle on this, which definitely brings it into this century.
I don't concern myself at all with what a car "should be" based on the category it falls into. Muscle cars shouldn't have round lines? Says who?

Looks alright, I think I prefer the current style but that is usual most times they change styles. Almost has a Camaro look from the sides.
I'll keep my '69 thank you.

Well that's all fine, new is good and change is good. All I'm saying is that if it looks like a Nissan, why not just get a Nissan? If it looks like a Porsche, why not just go for a Porsche?
If I'm buying a Mustang, I want it to look Mustangy. This doesn't really. It looks like a car confused about it's identity.
There probably could have been ways to change it up, but still have it retain some classic Mustang or muscle car looks. This particular incarnation seems to have missed that boat.
It's not a big deal, people like what they like. It's just that part of being an iconic car, is having a easily recognizable style. You can change it, update it, but you gotta keep the essence somehow. It's well and good to say a car doesn't have to be this or that, cause ultimately that's true. But when you're talking about a classic or icon, you want it to be recognizable as being that brand. The comparisons of the 370z (or comparable Zed cars) are apt. To me, kinda looks more like a Nissan than a Mustang. Or at least, too much like a Nissan, and not enough like a Mustang.
It's still a nice car, but if I wanted that styling, I'd just go with Nissan.

Thought it was pretty nice…until I saw the head-on pic, that front end is terrible looking. I agree with Captain, has a Japanese look to it.
Wouldn't buy.
