Course why would Hartley have them out there in the final 30 seconds of the game? Man we need to get Stephane Yelle outta retirement.

People hate on Berra he was the only reason we had a lead. The team was giving up point blank chances. Karri ramo is just as bad if not worse.

Could have been more to it, and I think it's solid conjecture to say it was.

But it definitely wasn't because TSN cuts to their flagship program minutes after the final buzzer.

The Hawks aren't champs for no reason. You could tell they were just going through the motions all game...but as soon as they smell blood, it's game over. Against teams like the Flames, they just need 10-15 minutes to do their thing.

A really crappy way to lose, but I'm not surprised we lost..even when we were up by 2.

the NHL was getting a ton of money either way, they didn't need to cut out TSN. They did, and not solely for money.

not the sole reason, but Bettman explicitly mentioned pre and post games in the Rogers press conference. The entire package is important to them and TSN ignores half of it.

Not sure what Hartley has against Ramo.

He gives MacDonald & Berra long stretches of games while they continue to play mediocre every single game. Ramo plays one mediocre game and sits for a few weeks.

I honestly feel Ramo is the best goalie but thanks to Hartley we'll never know.

No point playing lights out for 50, if you are gonna shart the bed the last 10.

He has given up 1 or 2 softies almost every single game. That should only happen every once every 2 or 3 games.

I'd much rather we be down 3-0 and come back to make it 3-2 than lose like this. 100 times out of 100..

Just drives you up the wall, even with the 'expectations' where they are.

How my girlfriend knows the game is over:

-Coffee table flipped over
-Swearing and shouting
-Incomprehensible ramblings and mumbling
-Straight to bed

That said, the Flames played 50 minutes of solid hockey, against the Hawks no less. An improvement, I'll take it. Yet, heartbreaking

Play goalie for 20 years and tell me they aren't hard. 1st played the pass an it defelected. 2nd one backhands are hard. Their opposite of the curved blade, just as likely it slides nicely on the ice and his left pad would of had it. It didn't pan out that way but, you can't predict a back hander they are usually not going to go where it should.

Didn't I just call him out for that icing mistake? Or is it easier for you to ignore that? I'm being fairly consistent, you're acting ridiculous. The whole game you're creating in your head of "Sven apologists" vs yourself is so childish.

Not upset when a player misses an open net because I realize an entire hockey game doesn't rely on that one moment. A good team will have other opportunities and bury other chances they get.

During the previous couple seasons I, and many others, said we'd rather see young players make mistakes but bring some excitement and potential to the line up rather then aging vets who make the same mistakes but don't learn from them. I still believe that. Basertschi is making mistakes, you know, like a rookie does, and some games will be a struggle but boiling down if he's an NHL player or not based on missing an open net, like you did, is really stupid.

He's got a long road ahead of him but he'll get there. Over reacting in a sorry attempt to be right is pretty sad.

Anyone defending Berra is out to lunch. Kane's goals were both atrocious.

The guy can make crazy acrobatic saves sometimes, but he's just not an NHL goalie.

Berra is not the goalie of the future. Time to move on from him. Looking forward to shipping out Sven for something useful. Not a fan of his. He is too small and weak. Really, this whole team is garbage. I don't hate the players but I don't like them. They are just there. The only ones I really think will turn out to be great are Monahan, Brodie, Gio....that's about it.

I ain't mad. This rebuilding acceptance has done wonders for my blood pressure.

I tend to think that Berra is still struggling with the ice size difference and that's why he swims so much and looks like he's working way to hard to find the angles.

But two out of the three goals were goaltender terrible, and its almost like the Flames collapsed on this lead because they don't have a lot of faith in him and start to over pursue.

I think its time to give Ramo some starts.

Bart had good compete but he was pretty boneheaded tonight, on the other hand he's 21 and 21 year olds are bone heads.

Monahan was exceptional tonight and was completely frosty on his goal, the kids got a big future.

Fear not Flames fans this was the year that was to be expected.

I think he CAN be a starting NHL goalie, keep in mind this is his first year in the NHL and he's looked pretty good most of the time. Sure he gets out of position sometimes and he lets in at least one soft goal per game, but that can be fixed.
