Just so we all know there are 28 teams other than the ing Canucks we can debate and argue about trading with, right?

Would anyone entertain a Kassian and Booth for Cammy type deal?
Kassian hasn't exactly lived up to his potential but on a rebuilding team like the Flames, he might have more leeway to make mistakes. Kassian isn't that grade A/B type prospect that Flames fans would want nor a late first round pick, but he's still a guy who could turn into a good power forward.
Going forward, Flames are going to have to surround their small core (Sven and Gaudreau) with size and toughness that can play a regular shift.

Unless we're getting a 1st with Kassian and Booth, then no.
Kassian is not a good enough player to warrant trading Cammalleri.
I think that if the Flames deal players for prospects that it would be much better served getting some good defensive prospects rather than up front where we already have about 15 above average prospects.

As mentioned before I would do it but have no idea why the Canucks would do it.
They are a 6-9th team right now and after that deal they would be a 6-9th team. Then going into next year they have nothing and lose a guy that they were very, very high on 1.5 years ago.
Hard to imagine that the Canucks and Gillis would have soured on him that much so quickly that they would give him away for a rental.

Cammalleri, Stajan and Stempniak are making it difficult considering they were a combined -9 against the Panthers the other night. Maybe they don't want to go?

With Toronto in a "win now" mode, wouldn't mind taking Morgan Rielly off their hands. Also wonder how steep the price wouldbe for Niederreiter, as the Wild are in a similar mode.

They desperately need scoring depth to make the playoffs. Not sure that Gillis keeps his job if they miss out.

Yes, but these are pending UFAs - and in almost all cases, they're over 30.
Get some assets for them, and then look to free agency and don't be afraid to spend big money on players you truly believe to be part of the solution long-term.

with the Flames keying more on hockey intelligence, I don't see them entertaining any trades involving Kassian. He makes poor decisions and takes bad penalties.
As for Booth, i don't think he offers enough at age 29, making 4.25 million and given his recent injury history. You'd be doing the Canucks a favour taking him and his contract off their roster.

Cammalleri to the Canucks for something like 1'st round pick and Eddie Lack would be interesting.

You do realize that the Flames are rebuilding, will likely miss the playoffs, and Cammy is a pending UFA right? These reasons "warrant" trading Cammalleri. for whatever the best asset the Flames can get in return. The asking price should start with a first round pick (projected mid to late pick) and or a young player with potential, but realistically this is an auction with a reasonable minimum bid of a 2nd round pick and where Cammy must go.
Without knowing if there's a better deal out there, I would be happy with the return if the Flames traded Cammy straight up for Kassian. If the Canucks want to add Booth they will have to add. But make no mistake, you start accepting offers and you take the best offer. Forget crap like whether the return warrants trading Cammalleri. Losing Cammalleri for nothing would be beyond stupid at this stage of the rebuild. If a 2nd round pick is all that is offered you still take it.

Kassian isn't a fair return for Butler let alone Cammy. Kassian is terrible.

I'd puke if we traded with the Canucks! As if a second deal with the oilers wasn't bad enough.

I would if it decimates their system even more. They only have a few decent prospects, so if we could take a couple of them off their hands that would be good. It's not like they are going to contend for a cup any time soon, and removing any potential replacement players out of their system will only make their rebuild longer.

I don't get this way of thinking. If the best return comes from the nucks, then the nucks should get the player. Also i would love to get Vancouver's first, only to see them fall short of making the playoffs.

Everyone is forgetting here that Mike Gillis is a smug man with quite the ego. He didn't buy out David Booth because he doesn't want to admit he lost that trade with the Panthers - going to give Booth every chance possible to save face.
That's small scale. Now think about the Hodgson trade. Gillis has been vilified for that move - he's going to give Kassian every chance to look good on that trade. Kassian won't be moved unless it's a significant overpayment.
Now think how big this whole Luongo fiasco has been. Finally Schneider gets dealt for a poor return....there is ZERO chance Horvat will be traded for a guy like Cammalleri. Horvat will be given every chance in the next 5-7 years to be an impact player for the canucks and again won't be dealt unless it's for a huge return.
Never discount "golden boy" status...usually reserved for 1st round picks and guys acquired in big trades. Kris Chucko got more chances than he deserved with the Flames...how much more will guys like Kassian and Horvat get.
No deal.

You say taking Morgan Reilly off their hands as if he's not doing exactly what they wanted from him and is a huge part of their future going forward. It's like someone saying they wouldn't mind taking Monahan off our hands.

Kassian really impressed me in the AHL during the lockout.
I think he still has the potential to be a big-bodied, 20 goal scoring, second liner. More or less on par with D Jones.
I don't know if either team would be willing to make a Cammi+ for Kassian+ trade, which is usually a good sign that its a reasonably fair deal.
