Is Glenmore EB backed up entirely so it's difficult getting to the ramp for SB Stoney?I imagine there's some dumbarse with his blinker on stopped in the right lane waiting to get into the left lane.

Just pull up behind him and lay on the horn. Eventually they get embarrassed and learn their lesson not to do it again. |

Was just coming here to post about the clusterfata that is EB Glenmore to NB ST. I was going WB glenmore and I sailed though, but the line up to go north bound on ST is a mile long.
If you wanted to go SB ST from WB glenmore , that is no problem.

I think if you want to go SB ST from EB Glenmore you should be ok. It is mainly the left lane that is completely fataed. But there is substantial volume in the area.

Also global was parked on the side of the road so I am assuming we will see some news coverage on this.

Bad thing is... they can't really fix it cause the bridge ain't wide enough for two turn lanes and two through lanes. Light timing isn't perfect, but they can't fix it with just timing. This is a fairly big problem.

Looking at google, EB glenmore is now backed up to 52nd. I'm not going to bother with Stoney today.

10mins from new brighton to 17th ave. Good enough for me. EB glenmore was bumper to bumper and not moving when i drove by.
Nice to see a couple of unmarked cops pulling people over already. |

Speeding?

I think they were doing laser from every interchange on the NW leg of Stoney too when it first opened. They wanted to stop people from using it as a drag strip.

Which way did you go? SB 52nd to 22x or NB 52nd to 114th?

Well...let's see what more than one afternoon looks like before pronouncing the interchange dead on arrival.

Yeah I'm kind of a hypocrite in that I said not to do exactly what I just did. but I suppose what will happen is that the traffic will disperse and use 52 St to get to either Peigan or 114 Ave to end up NB Stoney. Both have loop ramps to get NB. A full interchange at 61 Ave instead of just the flyover would've helped as well.

NB 52nd and east on 114th. There wasn't any traffic going west on 114th when I was leaving at around 4:45PM, so this route looks good for me coming home as well.

I was going to post earlier - left work at 5PM, got onto NB Deerfoot at Heritage and had the smoothest rush hour drive I can remember. Is this directly attributable to the SE ring road opening, or was there some accident further down south that caused my good fortune today?

Probably a combination of the ring road and being Friday, where half of Calgary doesn't go to work.
