They are going to force us to fall in love with the Gov (Brian) and then bam...Michonne cuts his head off in front of the new family.

I completely agree. I, like several other posters, was totally waiting for him to go mental and off one or two or all three of the girls. Yet he didn't - he ended up earning their trust. I don't think it took much though. If the girls have been waiting around for the National Guard, they've been holed up for some time and must be begging for outside info.

I got the feeling that he didn't really want to be there, and was more than willing to be off on his own. But the girls insisted on coming, and his affection for the little girl wouldn't allow him to be strong and simply leave without them.

Cool episode.

Question - why would he dump the plate of alphaghetti out the window? The girls were trying to take care of him, but I'm not sure the symbolism of accepting the plate of food and then dumping it out the window. Perhaps he didn't want to owe them anything?

Because even when your starving, Alphaghetti tastes like s**t.

Positive living in apocalyptic environment by fighting tooth decay. The writers think it's important that they send a simple message to eat healthy things, like fruit leather, and that they brush their teeth.

I used to love that stuff as a kid, but I bought some a while back and the noodles tasted like crap! I don't know what the 'pasta' is made of but it had a gross aftertaste.

The aftertaste you speak of is called "tin can".

Technically probably the best episode of the season. Was nice to get a different perspective and see the Governor coming to terms with the monster he had become. Will be interesting to see where they take this as I cannot see him ever accepted by Rick and the group.

Would anyone be surprised if Carol turns up somehow with the Governor and this new group of people he's stumbled on?

I have no idea what is going to happen with the Governor, I just assume that something is going to happen to the little girl to make him snap again.

Not sure if anyone watched Talking Dead after but David Morrissey was one of the guests and his view of dumping out the food was that the character doesn't want to be indebted to anyone. That's why he goes and gets the backgammon board and the oxygen, not only for the little girl, who is kind of a proxy Penny but also so he doesn't owe the family anything for taking him in.

Secondly, someone asked him about the Carol angle and whether he could see the Governor and her being on the same team now that Carol had gone over this new "moral line". The question was framed as a hypothetical but the way he answered I thought gave a hint that Carol may actually hook up with the Governor at some point. Maybe I'm reading to much into it, as Hardwick didn't address it but that was my first reaction to his answer.

Another good episode, best string of episodes this show has put together. Glad they're exploring the world around them more and knowing the show doesn't just have to be about Rick and company.
Didn't even notice that but you're right, Garner's best bud Joe I think his name was? I was expecting someone else..

He is a clip from next weeks episode, 1 minute long nothing spoilerish just puts a little context into some of the preview scenes. Spoilered for just in case.

Spoiler!

This is neat because not only do we get the Governor back, but we get to see a group that is out in the open doing exploration, without involving the main group. Obviously we all expect the two groups to come together at some point, we saw The Governor standing outside of the prison in episode 5. But under what terms will they meet?

Maybe the drunk medic is the inside man in the prison feeding rats to the walkers, sent by the group Martinez is a part of? It's not a slam drunk, but it isn't that far fetched either because I could see Martinez and his crew looking for safety behind the prison walls?

Another awkward example of product placement on The Walking Dead.

Not sure if I was the only one, but I really thought the new woman in the Governors life (Lilly) looks a lot like Maggie. Kinda weird considering the previous interaction between Maggie and the Gov.

I would have lost a bet if i was told that Walking Dead would dedicate an entire episode to just the Governor's aftermath and even more so that i would enjoy it.
I don't follow the graphic novel storyline, not my kind of thing.
But i hope the Governor has truly turned a page for the good but still has a underlying sinister side to him but it is used for good.
At first i almost deleted the episode i was like oh damn this is a stinking rerun. Glad i didn't.

Everything that happened this season has nothing to do with the comics, so we are all in the dark.

It really makes me wonder where the writers are taking the Govenor. It almost seems like he regrets what he did and he can't even stand himself now, he gives a fake name and covers his face in his family picture. It boggles my mind that he can have this 180 from the end of last season, I'm not sure I fully believe that he is just trying to do the right thing for this family he stumbled upon. If I was them I would be sleeping with one eye open, pardon the pun.

Yep, great episode. I like the fleshing out of the Guv's character, seeing a different side. I was hoping he would be a more of a three dimensional character last season, and he could have been with his family angle, protector role, but at the end he just kinda turned into this bad guy who was being bad for the sake of being bad. His motivations and actions seemed unrealistic. They didn't make much sense except to be an enemy to the prison group.

Hopefully, whichever direction he goes this season, it makes more sense than last. He has the possibility of being a really cool character.

I'm sure that Rick and the Governor would never be able to co-exist under the same roof. Oil and water. Too much history between them.

What if Carol ended up meeting up with another group, and ends up meeting the Governor and they loosely become part of the same group. Then Darryl, who I suspect is going to go out looking for Carol, finds Carol and the Governor together.

The bad news is that Michonne (who had just about given up hope of finding the Gov) had tagged along with Darryl.

So the Governor and Carol are on the one side, Darryl and Michonne are on the other side, and Michonne is likely to just go bananas. Would make for an epic battle scene.

Just having fun speculating.
