I have no idea if you wife helped us, but honestly I was blown away by how helpful they were. Must have been 2-3 different times.

Take your wife for some drive thru and give it two her twice (once from me).

I should also say that I have recieved good service at Harry Hays when I showed up there ill-prepared for the one day passport renewal process.

The passport in total is 36...that's pretty close to 40

If memory serves, if u want the 48 page passport, you can only get a 5 year....I can't for the life of me figure out the thinking behind that one..
